Can anyone recommend a good chess game for PC that has an multiplayer lobby to it?
Is a requirement that there be a single player aspect as wel?
It doesn't matter I have plenty of single player forms of the game, and the boards for playing at home. I'm searching for a PC version that has a good online multiplayer system.Originally Posted by divisortheory
Just use ICC then. It's a freely downloadable internet chess client that has members ranging from total novices to grandmasters. It's always packed, and you can watch grandmaster games live.
Is there a search type function to find people you know and play them, like say I wanted to play you how would we find one another to play a game?
It's been a long time since I used it, but you sign up with a handle, much like you do on this forum. You can create a table and then a friend can join the table you created, or vice versa.Originally Posted by Remy0

It used to be free, it seems like they started charging which is unfortunate. If the money is too much, you can always just use Yahoo chess.
I was hooked on this for awhile, it's a lot of fun and has an easy interface:

I used to play here: http://www.instantchess.com/
Yea ICC is actually really awesome, and if you're serious about chess it's almost definitely worth the money. But if you just want something more casual maybe it's not worth it.Originally Posted by Remy0
