Got the opportunity to order this for $1500 through school, and I'm not hugely apt at evaluating hardware performance, so I was wondering if any of the more knowledgeable people here had some input.

Comes with a bunch of engineering and CS software as well, but that's not really relevant.
I'm wondering if this is a worthwhile investment that will last at least a few years.
I'm also curious on the subject of PS2 emulation, considering my old laptop can emulate at around 1/2 normal FPS, and I've heard a dual processor really helps this.
