After meeting the 4th person mule from another server & reading the thread listing all dynamis currency value on every server, I have a pretty good idea a lot of people are doing this. I wanted to know how the community feels about this.
Absolutely not. It's RMT!
Ok as long as it benefits me.
Ok as long as it brings gil onto my server.
Ok as long as it brings goods onto my server.
I'm fine with it until SE issues a statement against it.
It's ok if done in moderation.
I've done it but I only tell a few select people or no one.
I've done it & don't care if people know.
I don't care.

If people want to waste 90 days and $25 to make some gil and bring all server prices into equilibrium, I don't care.
Couldn't care any less
If I don't feel the effects and none of my good in-game buddies don't transfer on me, I don't mind. I pick in moderation. The BG background checks have really alleviated my fears on the matter.
I transferred not for the sole purpose of making money, but I did end up a couple million ahead in the process. onoes.
The 90 day and 25$ thing kinda prevents doing it for the sole purpose of making money, except maybe in the case of relic-pursuers sending off loaded mules to pick up cheap currency, but I still can't see it becoming a huge huge problem.
I'd go for the "If I wanted to change servers, hell yeah I'd do it" option ... but there was none
Server prices will slowly balance out and if they don't who cares. I reality it's exactly like buying a scroll in selbina to sell on the jeuno AH just takes 3 mths to see a profit.
I don't see it as a big deal. Why would it be?

Technically you could just buy the value pack (that $3.99 basic game package), register the game, and use the free month to create a character on the server you want to buy currency from. Then, on your main, send a bunch of gil to a mule, transfer it to that server, buy all the currency, send it to the character on your second account, and then transfer that character back to your original server, but that's almost 55$ just for cheaper dynamis currency. Seems a bit of a waste.Originally Posted by orson

If thats what caused the dynamis currency average price to drop 2-3k in the last 2 months.. then I definately don't see it as a bad thing.
Mixed feelings on this, on one hand, the person who wants to send over 20 mil, and buy cheaper dynamis coins, is gonna be paying 50$, 1 mule to and 1 mule from, on the other hand, someone could really screw up a certain economy's market by evaporating 1 server's items and throwing the lot onto another server.

If/when it becomes too much of a problem, Square will crack down on it. (Prevent people from server transferring within 90 days of character creation, have a level limit of 30 or higher before your character can transfer, etc.)
But out of all of the things possible for RMT to do for cash, this seems to be the least disruptive.
Simple economics. People will buy gear from the cheapest world and sell it on the most expensive server. Result will be a steady deflation on expensive server and steady inflation on cheap servers. Eventually server prices will equalize where there will be no point in switching server to make a profit.
I find it to be ingenious that SE is doing this. It basically stabilizes the economy while making them cash.
