Moving ffxi from pc to pc.

Well, I decided for format my pc today. I backed up my ffxi directory using the guide on the windower.net forum. http://www.windower.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8434

I backed up all the files. Saved the registry.

Then I imported the registry after the reformat, made and ran the .bat file. Upon double clicking the pol.exe file I get this error "PlayOnline Viewer installation cannot write to specified destination folder. Please check your access privileges."

I am admin on this pc so I don't understand where this error is coming from.

Anyone else have this problem?

Right click the folder, 10k gil says some or all of it is set as Read Only. Rectify that error and proceed to the sendy guy and dbox me my gil.

Problem fixed.

For some reason, windows gave my hard drive that had ffxi on it a new letter. I had to go into the backed up registry and change from L:\ to G:\ . Thanks for the attempt at helping Shues. I am 10k richer :O! Still a stupid error for what was wrong.

not a stupid error it was the correct error, just not very detailed... it tried to write to L:\whatever and it couldnt therefor you get an unable to write to directory error>.> yea it coulda said "unable to find L:\whatever check the directory and try again" but whatever
