BG College Football Pick Em

After I thought I would create a college football pick em league using ESPN.com. It's pretty simple -- there's 10 games to pick a week. Pick the winners, and rank the confidence from 1 to 10 (10 being most confident). If your 10 ranked team wins, you get 10 wins; 9 ranked - 9 pts, etc. This goes on over the course of the season, starting with games on Saturday.

There is no fee for this, and the prizes are only if you finish in the top handful of people in every pick em league on ESPN.com, but I thought it might be fun to talk some shit. We got 25 people for both the BG Bowl Pick Em as well as the BG NCAA tournament, so I'm hoping to see that many people turn out for this.

I just got back from watching Oregon State beat up on Utah for the first game of the year. A little shaky, but with two platooning rookie quarterbacks, what are you going to do?

On a sad note (unless you hate Utah), I think Utah's starting QB and RB got knocked out for the season tonight. That's some bad karma.

There's also an NFL version of the Pick Em, as well as an Eliminator game for the NFL season, which is about my favorite game out there. Judging from the positive reaction of this one, I'll be starting up BG leagues for those two sometime next week....

All I know is Penn State's gonna be totally fucked up this year. Even more so than previous years. Several of their returning players have had shall we say "run-ins" with the law in the last few months. Couple of them were charged with assault and battery but somehow they got off punishment and are being allowed to play. A few others were caught drinking underage (drinking age is 21 in PA) and odds are they won't be playing. One of Joe's big peevs is drug/alcohol use.

Ugh. Well Alabama has a new head coach in Nick Saban this year as everyone and their mother knows.. and Auburn should still be decent, I don't know how good though. Depends on if Cox throws 4 picks to Georgia again.. but they have an extremely road schedule (Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, LSU), so it should be interesting.

Alabama on the other hand plays LSU at home and gets AU at home.. meaning could they possibly win a game? Naaah. Anyway, can't wait for this season. I hope USC loses btw, I"m sick of them.
