Umm, can you explain please? I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I don't know how to interpret that graph.
Ah nvm just blind as a bat lol
Yea I don't quite understand it either
blue = new
blue+red = old
red by it self = ???
And yes I am legally retarded :D
edit: woops switched old and new around D:
As far as I can see the max pdif post-update is now 1.5 for 1 handed weapons?
And for 2-handers, they are able to read the top now? (without SA or crit)
Red by itself is supposed to cover the whole graph. Blue covers the capped part of the Red graph. So Red by itself is the old values.Originally Posted by LinktheDeme

That's just a graphical representation of what I posted a few days ago, nothing complicated although it does show it in a nice visual format, except it doesn't look like people understand the visual format any better than the text explanation

So one handers got their PDifs nerfed down from 2.4 to 2.0 which includes criticals?
One thing the graph shows, but doesn't really show, is that crits from somewhere between 1.7 and 2.3 Cratio start to give you a higher average because of old Pdif values of 2.0 capping at 3.0 on crits. I'm not positive exactly what Cratio you would need to do better with this current system than the previous, but I'm guessing around 2.1-2.2 Cratio. You'll do better vs. TW mobs farming, and in xp if you have enough attack buffs.
Took me forever to figure out how to explain that, so there's probably been 100 posts and somebody already said something to this effect.

Blue old average, assuming even distribution
Using linear interpolation from 2 points and averaging 2 functions:
pDIF_avg = 1.0535*cRatio -0.5893
Red new average, assuming even distribution
Using linear interpolation from 2 points and averaging 2 functions:
pDIF_avg = 0.625*cRatio + 0.5626
so cRatio increase on nerfed region about 40% less effective than before
One thing to confirm is whether This capped 2.0 region has unique behaviour like the one that has pDIF=1.0 (i.e. 33±7% of the value is 1.0). The formula would be
pDIF_avg = 0.4167*cRatio + 1.04167 (Green line)
No, one handers got their pDIF's buffed up from 1.6 to 2.0.Originally Posted by LinktheDeme

No. Previously if you had a cRatio of 2.0 your pDIF would range from 1.6 to 2.4. Now if you have that same cRatio your pDIF will range from 1.6 to 2.0. In order to get the same amount of damage previously attainable you need even more attack. This also means that as your cRatio increases from around 1.6 you will experience dimishing effects from attack.Originally Posted by Khamsin
I may be a little bit off, but the general concept is still 100% true.
The thing that this really shows, is that there is obviously a problem, and that it is highly doubtful that it was intentional.
If it was unintentional why didn't they mention it when they listed the known problems.
Should have made the "red + blue" part of the graph more distinguishable from the red part. Some sort of "blurple" might work better.
