Well even if people didn't do Vox I know a lot of people tried to do all those epic mobs that were like 3x harder than the original..I think Vox had some epic drops too.
The Realm Online was my first (and only other, unless you count my half hour venture into WoW) MMORPG. At least three separate characters to 1000 over the years. :D

Pretty much went from RO straight to FFXI. I do miss RO, it had such charm. Too bad the game sucked though.
Ranked all the MMO's I've ever played (I guess FFXI would be on top, since I'm still playing):
1. Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst
2. World of Warcraft
3. RF Online
4. Phantasy Star Universe (JP & NA Versions)
5. City of Villains
6. Lineage II
7. Maple Story
8. Silkroad Online
9. Ragnarok Online
10. Guild Wars
11. ROSE Online
Luckily for me i was in and out of the lobbies as fast as possible, that and I quit before the fsod was leaked to everyone, Thank god.Originally Posted by Zarath

Yea but only like 3 out of the 1000s that were dupped were real.
I remember playing PSO and having a bit of hacker fun, I was on the leading edge for a bit till the clan wars during the latter half of the DC years. Never really came back till PSOGC though, where I met one of the people I still play online games with.
First MMO was FFXI. Spent two years there before finally quitting. Only thing I miss about it were the missions, the storylines were interesting.....
I took a few breaks in FFXI and tried EQOA, that was pretty fun, got a necromancer to the 40s, but defaulted back to XI. Also tried PSU, got a toon to 40-something, but the games design was horrid and hacked to shit.
Now currently on WoW, got a 70 and really enjoying it. Will most likely be the last MMO I play, these damn things are just too addicting....
Started out on Ragnarok Online. Enjoyed it for the time. Good music, not so great graphics or story. Would have been better if there was more to the game then just grinding and getting slot gear so you could grind harder. No endgame to speak of, but interaction with GMs during events were fun.
Came over to FFXI for about 2.5 years. Great story, pretty good music for the most part, although I think RO did a better job of making sure you always had something to listen to. Graphics and Mithra always a plus. Found the support system from SE to be entirely lacking when it was critical. Endgame was varied and challenging at times, but ran off a antiquated system of camps and unnecessary competition.
Currently playing WoW. No real story or CSs. Average graphics. Average to no music, with a few exceptions(Ashenvale), but much more dynamic when it comes to moving about the world, and in how you fight your character. Overinflated economy, but no RMT presence to matter, good on time consumption vs. reward, integral PVP, and competition over items is nothing compared to RO or FFXI. Excellent support from Blizzard.
Prolly play WoW until a better MMO comes out.

I don't think you could classify a MUD as a MMO seeing as how even the largest only has about 200 people on at any given time so it couldn't really be called massive.Originally Posted by Fryte
The common definition of MMO makes UO the first one, so yeah, what he said.
edit: The first Neverwinter Nights, GemStone, and some stuff I've never heard of actually came first. Whatever.Originally Posted by Wikipedia

Had this on my multi-line dial-up BBS that I ran as a hobby when I was 14. Made some money with that, and this was one of the reasons it was so popular. lol
Anyone else have fun with this back in the days of 14.4kbps? XD
http://www.wowwiki.com/Main_Page we're technically 'finishing' the rest of the lore. And expansions will come out each year as told by blizzard. As I see from reading the lore until now and such once the lich king is dead and the naga's place from under the malestorm will rise up etc is how it seems like it's going. And a better mmo coming out is Hellgate:London/Wargammer OnlineOriginally Posted by Venture
