What an amazing, thought provoking (and wholly original!) show that in no way relies on hooks, abnormal characterization, and exaggerated storylines the way metalocalypse does.

What an amazing, thought provoking (and wholly original!) show that in no way relies on hooks, abnormal characterization, and exaggerated storylines the way metalocalypse does.

Don't forget the amazingly predictable plots. (They think it is one disease, it is not. They try a second, that works, but plot twist, it isn't. House realizes it is a third disease, looks like it works but it doesn't. Everyone thinks it is something else, but House realizes at the last moment what it really is.)

Yes, I like House, but I understand that it is only a good show because the actors are phenomenal and carry the crappy plot.

P.S. I am glad that I gave Metalocalypse a chance, it is a very good example of what [Adult Swim] is supposed to be. On the other hand, I am sad that I gave Morel Orel, Tom Goes to the Mayor, Saul of the Molemen, Tim and Eric, and Perfect Hair Forever chances.

I don't actually mind that adult swim shows crap from time to time. It's evidence that the execs don't tamper with the final product much, giving them room to be as good or as bad as they possibly can be. Experimental, risk-taking TV doesn't seem to happen anywhere else and if it keeps things strange and occasionally interesting then the world makes more sense to me. I don't mind a bad signal/noise ratio as long as the signal that does get through is high quality. Brendan Small still making cartoons for them is fantastic news overall.

i liked tom goes to the mayor... and phf... but i liked phf because i took it as a commentary on how true it is that 99% of dubbed anime is terrible, and couldnt stop laughing during the show because of that mindset....
