I've been trying to google around to find any talk about upcoming or recently released still cameras which can also record video. I'm going to be spending a year teaching in Japan next year and I wanted to get a camera to take pictures and some video. Recently there's been the Casio EX-Z1080 and the Kodak Easyshare V1253.

The Casio says it explicitly captures in AVC, but it's not a standard resolution capturing at 848×480 according to the website. The Kodak says it captures 720p, which would be 1280x720, but it doesn't say if it's full width or half width (i.e. 640x720) which some "HD" camera's did to get to "1080p" resolution. It also says it captures in MPEG-4 but it doesn't say if it's AVC or another version of the codec.
So my question is, has anyone heard of other cameras which are coming out soon, and are planning to capture HD video or capture using the AVC codec? Or if there's any cameras out now or coming out soon which I should check out? What I would like is a camera that captures in 16:9 and can capture video in 16:9 so that when I'm back I can display them on my HDTV.
(Don't know any camera forums and BG hasn't let me down yet!)
