Are better ships affordable? I don't want someone to give me money that they'd miss if I didn't play past the trial.
the civilian weapons don't use ammo -> this is why you couldn't find an ammo reserve

when you start using weapons -with- ammo (on the ship fit screen they will have a small number greater than 0.0 below the red minus sign) you can drag ammo to that and then when flying it will display the ammo remaining in the gun instead of the gun icon for charge weapons.

if you need a small AB (because you can't use/fit a full size one) the civilian AB is a decent choice for the smaller/early frigates. it's not a *real* Afterburner but it beats leaving the slot empty haha.

about fitting: several skills increase your cpu and powergrid. other skills improve your cap recharge and max capacity etc.

these are mostly in the electronics and engineering sections. (minimally, you'll want to train electronics, engineering, energy management, energy systems, and possibly controlled bursts and weapons upgrades in gunnery) electronics and engineering in particular will help you fit more into your ship. and the others will help you keep your cap running longer with more gear active.

I just outfitted my first catalyst (gallente destroyer) last night. having a lot of fun with it although I might switch from blasters to rails since the mission pirates don't like to let me close much closer than 5000m and that's in my falloff.

I think I'm getting the hang of the skills thing, it's basically merits, so I've rationalised it into a concept I get.

Train lots of the low level skills so I can equip the basics of most stuff, then further training in the ones I want to specialise in.

I'm confused by my ship though, I have the Cormorant I think, the Caldari Destroyer. It has a bunch of high energy slots, a few mid, and only a single low energy slot. Is there a way of increasing these slots?

This game is pretty fun, been playing on the 21 day steam trial. Thinking about buying in. Like the play style so far, just wondering on the long term sustainability.

Damn it, I've been training to get a medium railgun only to find my ship has nowhere near enough power.

I want to play this game with an unlimited budget and build a massive behemoth of doom

    Re: EVE Online

Destroyers should pretty much stick to the small railguns. As for increasing the amount of powergrid your ship has, theres the Power Diagnostic Units (PDU), Reactor Control Units (RCU) and Auxillary Power Controls (APC - But these are mostly used in frigates/inteceptors), also training engineering to lvl 5 will help, and getting that to lvl 5 is pretty much a requirement (As with Electronics, Gunnery, Mechanic, Missile Launcher Operation and Navigation - all skills that mostly everyone will recommend getting to lvl 5 eventually).

Theres no way to increase the amount of slots a ship has, the only real way is getting the sort of "HQ" (Fleet/Faction) version of that ship (Ie. Raven -> Caldari Navy Raven), but there overpriced and generally not really worth it unless its for missions that you know you can comfortably do.

The first few months are generally the worst, you sort of have to get all these gunnery/missile/learning/shield/electronics/mechanic/ship operation skills trained up and out of the way before you start having fun with the large ships like Battlecruisers and Battleships, but with a lil patience your always not too far from being able to try something new - ie. I've been playing for over 2 years myself and just a few days ago I decided to pick up a stealth bomber, because I had trained up for inteceptors and cruise missiles for battleships I only really needed the Covert Op skill book and around 60 mil for the ship <.<; - love the damage potential on it but need to get used to the heavy, slow and lack of shields/armor on it

    And youch at the domi loss, whats worst is I bet those 2 CCC rigs were more than the actual ship itself >.<;;

I'm thinking about downgrading from the Destroyer, I got a Frigate from a mission, it has 4 missile bays and no turret slots. I really just want a Death Star

    pretty much heh.

One of the things I laughed heartily about was how the 10 drones I had in cargo hold got destroyed

Always happy when my enemies don't get any of my good loot.

How do you view that page with the losses and such? I'd want to see how much I've lost the 2 times I wrecked my ship during missions. (Fuck missiles, seriously they do too much damage.)

your kill mails are under your player tab in EVE. that site I linked is my current(soon to be former) killmail site where we upload our killmails and it displays it in a graphical format.

Meh. I failed a high-quality agent Lv4 mission last night and my standing went down to the point where I had to start working with high-quality Lv3 agents again, lolz. Fuck low-quality Lv4 agents. ONLY THE BEST FOR MY UGLY ASS RAVEN.

Training all my skills towards getting a battlecruiser while trying to make money off of shitty level 1 agents!

    Re: EVE Online

About a month until my alliance goes to war to take over a system. My corporation has enough materials to build 3 titans, but we need someone else to build them for us apparently. I'm capping my shield skills for the war, though it won't save me at all, hopefully I'll live a little longer.

Might train for a Nighthawk or go straight for a Golem, then get my electronic skills up and get into a better Electronic Warfare ship.

Gallente account is 2 or 3 days from being able to use T2 drones (not including heavy). Just got her into a Myrmidon too. Epic looking ship.

    Re: EVE Online

I just finished getting interceptors (working on IV now), but have yet to use the ares I bought yet Running around in a velator in 0.0 with no friendlies attracts a LOT of attention, lemme tell you.....

Gonna work on the skills to make my 'ceptor uber then work on interdictors.

btw, kiro. you're in the stain-ish region right? right now, my corp isn't doing a damned thing.... yours taking apps? :D

I Just fit up a Hurricane a week ago and having fun with that. T2 ACs are pretty hax. I JUST finished Covert Ops V a couple nights ago, and I've been doing a lot of exploration to make some great money. Probe out with my Cheetah, clean up with my Hurricane. I still need to gang up when I probe out a high DED complex though.

My next goal is to focus on Missle skills/Stealth Bombing.

    Re: EVE Online

My corp is always taking applications. We aren't in the Stain region YET. We're still in.. Sovereign, or something like that. Area called SX9. The alliance we're in controls a big chunk of that, and I think in a month we're going to the Stain region.

Edit: I dunno who our recruitment guys are right now, but if you send an eve-mail to blood company or myself (Recon Three) I'll forward it to whoever is dealing with the recruitment stuff.

    Re: EVE Online
