curious, is it possible to get anything done in this game without having 5+ hours to dedicate to play time each day? now that i'm no longer a growing boy and have joined the workforce, i'm having trouble getting in my game time. i've tried to play this on trial accounts three times now and while i enjoy it, i wasn't sure where to actually plant my foot on the ground and get started. barely made it past the tutorial every attempt. is joining a corp early on the key to sticking with the game?

I believe it is milks. There are a ton of corps who are deep into all aspects of the game that welcome new players. Just have to zero in on what you want to do and go for a Corp that has activities towards that.

If I feel like rushing standings gain, L2 courier missions take about 5 minutes each to do. You could do 16 and get a storyline mission every day with a minimum of time put in. (A round trip trade hub haul would also be doable in an hour, maybe two rounds in an industrial instead of freighter)
Or you could do security missions, but how long they take depends on your skills, how smart you fit, and if you blitz or take time to salvage.

You can double up your time and watch TV while mining in high sec to get more hours in as well.
Station trading is really just updating orders after you've gotten some basic research done, so unless you're using all three character slots, it only takes about half an hour to use up all your order slots.
Planetary Interaction doesn't take much time either once it's in production, especially if you keep all your planets in the same system, or only a jump apart. It's sub-optimal, but you can even rig its you only need to check on it every week or so.

We end the war between the RUS and N3 by stabbing N3 in their heart over and over and over again until they stop moving. We go to their staging system in 0-W778 in Detorid - that system where they have evacuated three regions worth of assets, all the filth and all of the dross from Immensea, Tenerifis and Omist

This is why we allowed N3 to evacuate I-N in Immensea. Not ~mercy~, not some Sun Tzu bullshit about golden bridges of retreat. We let them consolidate all their assets from all their lost regions in one place, and if you give us this next week, if you commit absolutely to this operation, they will lose not only a tremendous amount of assets, but their entire active capital fleet.
