baw screw paying 10k/fish (thats how much for both fish on my server) too much money. unless i fish for gil and freakin just use that money to buy the lik/gug <_<

using fish profits to buy lik/gug is pretty brutal though. at 130k/day thats only 13 fish. and thats IF fish only cost 10k. they're both 20k on my server ; ;

I've been catching my own and selling some of them when I needed money. I just hit 0/200 on Gugrusaurus yesterday.

Yeah, Lik and Gugarus are 20k on Bahamut. As much as I would love to just fish for profit when I get there and buy the fish, that just wont really work out. Im planning on going on a Bhefel run soon. Might as well work towards those rings! ^^

i has a question for you ppl already fishing lik/gug, since i'm only 53k/95k o the SSR, how often does your lu shangs break? how often do you get line breaks? and is it fairly easy to catch the bastards with both rings or is it still a really big fight? do you loose your minnow lure a lot fishing lik?

Yes, i'm still skilling up~ I sell off fish i'm catching (have been catching for over a year, fished for profit for a LONG time, finally skilling up now) and buying Gugru from a friend who catches them, and off AH. For me, its not about the gil, its about the goal I set to get this damn rod ha ha. What else am I going to use the gil on? I'm already geared for all my jobs, already have a 100 craft with all maxed out subs, so i've decided to level fishing finally and do this quest. I've also started a cooking mule (Started Sunday night, at lvl 19 now named Bobbyflay!!!) so I can cook all my own fish, which should increase my profit, plus be able to make my own damn Melon Pies +1 instead of continuing to pay the increasing prices of them on my server.

i'm actually d lvling my 96 CC to lvl woodworking to 70 just so i can do the ebisu rod quest easier :O

Got the Serpent Rumors on Sunday the 22nd, Opal Silk the 24th, Saber Shoot today the 26th and Ebisu will be mine on the 1st of March. Went 1/1 on Liks and 1/66 on Gugrusaurus.

Fish GP items are almost never on ah so unless you can find them for a decent price from npc (bibikibo is only one that comes to mind) you're better off just fishing them. unless they're the really low ones where you need like 60 of them for 1k points (in which case i dont really bother), i can usually fish up the required amount for the GP item of the day in 30 mins to an hour

as far as being behind on points, ya it can be a pain. took me forever to get the first 100k for my apron, but once you get higher ranked (as i'm sure you know from other crafts) getting points goes a lot faster. i'm kinda behind being Veteran and only having apron so far, but i can get GP a lot faster than i did before due to having like a lot more bigger point items available
