Anyone have any experience with doing Kurrea with 6-8 people?? Personally, I'm 1/5 on his guy with a full alliance long time ago so I'm not even sure if low man is even doable.

I remember reading about a strats that involved a bunch of blm (something like 6) at the bridge. He would path back at some point to eat his food, giving plenty of time to blm to rest or something.
Never fought the guys, so I dont remember the details
Possibly doable with like PLD, RDM, SAM, DRK, 4 BLM, but it'll take quite a while and there is a decent chance he'll get too buffed up to kill before you can finish him. The key to easy fights though, as said, is to fight far enough away from his spawn area that he only casts one spell and attacks a time or two before retreating back for more soup.
I guess 2 BRDs and 6 Kraken DRKs could do it also, but I doubt that's the kind of setup you were looking for.
The problem is that it have huge regen and it would probably recover all the HP lost during the walk back and forth. The problem I encountered during the previous run was that we would take him down to 50% and then he walks back to this soup and BAM 90%, this went on for about an hour till it was doing 4k tornado and 2k aeroga III wiping everyone.
I doubt it's realistically possible to kill something that full alliances of decent players wipe to through no fault of their own.
BLU is nice on this guy. His defense bonus can be taken away (I think) with Frightful Roar (it always stuck when I used it, and I remember that this effect usually overwrote a defense buff), and the other BLU with me there was able to consistently stun him with Head Butt. No Ga's got off the whole battle, iirc. We just zerged him at his spawn spot, and it went down pretty easily. I think we had about 10-12 people, maybe more. I can't remember it clearly as I was only able to stay for 1 run.
Edit: By "zerging" I mean no KC DRKs, just good ole SAMs, WARs, MNKs, etc DDs. No 2 hours, either.

Kurrea is very doable with low numbers, but involves a lot of luck. Whenever we do kurrea sometimes we kill him in 2 trips back to the soup up to the point one lasted 1.5 hrs and was so buffed we had to give up, magic and melee both doing 0 damage, nothing else we could do. If you kill him fast its doable but if you let him stay up for too long with low numbers you might end up screwing yourself.
This guy is seriously easy. I wiped to him man times before I realized that he runs out of buffs after awhile. If you do not have the people to zerg him down just get a bunch of tanks NIN or /NIN and try to stay alive until he does run out of buffs. If you can stay alive, which isn't very hard, just wait till his soup runs out. He will keep going back to the soup but it won't do anything after awhile.
I forgot to say that he can only have a certain amount of buffs on at a time so they will wear after awhile as he gets new ones.
BLU is godly for this fight.
Everytime we ever fought this guy, bear in mind it was back in my Escape days Weeks, we never fought him that far away. We always fought him up right at the shed near his bowl. The only times we ever lost is if we didn't have enough manpower. I'm sorry but aside from Kraken Drk's and a couple Brd's I don't think a low man would be too successful. But shit, if you do it, fraps it. I'm sure people would love to see it done.Possibly doable with like PLD, RDM, SAM, DRK, 4 BLM, but it'll take quite a while and there is a decent chance he'll get too buffed up to kill before you can finish him. 10-12~ man, only one insane Are's GAX WAR, the rest mortal DDs this guy is pretty easy. SAMs, WARs, MNKs, BLUs for damage, have 2 WHMs, he's easy. Think most melee went /nin, -ga were minimized by everyone hugging his soup bowl. Most fights lasted 2 minutes, one went about 40-50 minutes, but you can outlast him and his buffs will wear. Pants are sorta overwhelmed by other options, but they're a pretty cool piece to have as a gap fill.
His buffs definitly do not wear off unless they recently ninjad himOriginally Posted by Ashael
You can fight him really close to where he pops to quickly go into "green eyes" mode, if you want to kill him faster. Then just run back.
I know the pants is subpar but it seems it is the best piece for cannonball.Originally Posted by Ashael

edit: nvm... not blu equipable
Last time our linkshell did Kurrea was a few months ago, but the best option then seemed to be using a lot of two-handed weapons to get through buffs. This was also pre-update, so post-update it's probably even easier.
A lot of it is luck, unfortunately. Nothing more annoying than getting him to 1% and him shooting back up to 26%.
The only time Kurrea's buffs wear is if he gets sick (Kurrea's face turns green! or somesuch). The longer it takes, the more difficult the fight becomes.Originally Posted by Ashael
If you don't kill him within thirty minutes you're better off just running to the zone because you won't be able to touch him after that pretty much.
