If that is so, then black holes may contain their own universes, but those universes would likely contain their own black holes, which could contain their own universes … in an infinite loop.

That loop model posted in the article is my favorite. I always thought it was the most 'logical' one to explain our universe... not that physics laws always follow the easiest model. It's nice to see they managed to push the mathematics behind that model ahead.

Unless it's possible to take organic material, compress it to a single point, and then after it passes into another open universe, it can gradually decompress over time once the incredible pressure is removed.

I was talking about the compression and decompression, smartass. The point is to equate it with something a person would know of. A blackhole breaks matter down completely and forces it into a single point. Even though it probably couldn't assume it's old form, the matter itself may still remain.
