What's the verdict of BG? Rajas or an Acc ring for non-2hander jobs?
What's the verdict of BG? Rajas or an Acc ring for non-2hander jobs?
for me it depends. on which job, what im fighting and what food I choose to use.
but most of the time I just gimp out and use it.
i think it's gimp but i use it anyway.
PS2 space limitations.

It seems like a no-brainer. If it still needs to be said tho, I'd choose the Rajas. Unless for some extremely odd reason, you've completed CoP, your other slots are lacking in acc, and 2.5 Acc makes or breaks you hitting the mob.
Clearly the answer is Divisor/Toreador's (Mars's if applicable)Originally Posted by Keston
Not that you need the opinion of a melee WHM, but I use 2 snipers now because of B+ skill. Once relic is done and I constantly have an accuracy bonus, I am most definatley switching back to Rajas. It's still 2.5 accuracy, along with 2.5 attack, but what sells it for me is the store TP +5.
You mean the potential for you to need one less hit to get to 100% sells the item for you?Originally Posted by Izzy
That's pretty much my response too.Originally Posted by layoneil
Yes. The majority of my damage comes from WS since my DoT blows. Taking 1 swing of of a 12 swing setup increases my overall damage by 8.3%.Originally Posted by Eaglestrike
What's all this nonsense about acc versus dex&str!? Rajas replaces TWO other rings: your "tp" ring and your "ws" ring. Rajas = INVENTORY+1! If you normally keep lower rings around for capped fights, it can replace 40,50,&60 cap rings, too. That's inventory+4!
FFXI is entirely about who has the most inventory space.
I don't think that's ever the case is it?and 2.5 Acc makes or breaks you hitting the mob.
The way I look at it as THF:
Even if my hit rate is horrible (50%), then an extra 1% hit rate is like +2% output
But the STR from Rajas makes my D33 weapon into D34, which is closer to +3% output, plus the crits, TP, etc.
I think that you're gonna end up putting out more damage with a saved round of attacks and +1 fSTR than 2.5 accuracy can give you. I guess it could be different if you're using a sniper's +1, but so long as its saving me a round of attacks, I perfer my rajas.
Sniper+1/Toreador/Divisor/Mars
this is highly dependent on your actual accuracy, how much damage you already do per swing, and what your pdif is. (at least, 1 fstr vs 2.5 accuracy)Originally Posted by Sendra
1 fstr will never be more than 3 damage on a non ws hit (and is frequently not more than 2)
2.5 accuracy is still 1.25% hit rate (either 1 or 1.5% half the time) which will give an incremental increase in the area of 1.5% for most accuracy ranges - if you hit for more than ~130 a swing you'll improve your dot more over time with 2.5 acc (this is with a capped cRatio on non crits) if you have a lower cRatio, you don't even need to hit for this much.
Who cares [x]
In all seriousness, if you don't have much better alternative (Toreador and friends), I don't see why not
For me, it depends on the job and what I am eating. For MNK, I have a lot of accuracy so that I can eat meat, so I forgo the Raja's for a Sniper's. For NIN, were I have barely any accuracy in lieu of haste gear I eat sushi so the Raja's Ring is fine. This assumes a camp where accuracy becomes an issue.
Of course shit is situatioal, but this is my general policy and I am happy with it.
It's uhhh... the exact same as it used to be.
I use Rajas in the same build where I use my NIN Chainmail +1, for stuff like Nyzul, assault, and sky or sea farming. I am either using sushi in these situations or I don't need food.
For actual meriting, Rajas is a little gimpy so I just picked up another Sniper's +1. Accuracy on legitimate merit mobs is always an issue on NIN (And I suppose on my rarely-used WAR, which is still lacking 2 Aggressor merits).
{Yawn}
To all the brainless Rajasers who claim Store TP is the shit for 1handers: how often do you WS at exactly 100% TP? If the answer is "always lolz" then stop drinking coffee and go take a bath or something because you need to relax irl. I don't know about you, but with Haste gear, Haste spell and at least one March on, I swing again before I can even hit gearswap/WS macro, unless I'm taking it way too seriously (ie, parsing against someone with similar gear etc). I'm human, we're humans, none of us will always WS at 100% TP because we're humans. And every time you WS past the 100% mark (which can be, for example, after you eat a hit from the mob, or when you hold onto TP because a mob is at low HP, or when you simply couldn't react faster than you swung again) then your Rajas is grinning at you reminding how stupid it is to use it for TP.
It is, however, an amazing piece for 2handers =)
But who cares, Sattva Ring for life. And death.
