Hello from Japan!

Hey guys, giving you all a post from Japan! Been here for a week, coming back in December. I'll post all my adventures later when I come back.

I already got some cool stuff though, I got a Balthier action figure, he's?about 9-10 inches tall, and he comes with a rifle too (I forget which it is though). I got a dark blue DS Lite too since my white one's top screen broke like hell. They also have Mario Galaxy out too, and I'm going to head to Akihabara later today to see if I can play a demo somewhere.

Oh, and the area I live in is Suitengumae.

Everyone, tell me some cool places I should go and see! I've already been to a few areas like Harujuku, Shinjuku and Nakano. I'll bring back pictures too. I'll probably check on the forums in a couple days. Good luck everyone, itte rashai!

If you're into books you can always check out the Kanda District >_> idk its been 20 years since I went to Tokyo...

Depends what you're into and how old you are. Roppongi Hills (important that you go to Hills and not tourist-trap Roppongi) is real high class stuff. Meguro (few stops further south on the yamanote than Shibuya is quite possibly my favorite place in Tokyo because...well because it's Shinbuya without all the damn kids. This means just as fun but quieter and less of the attention-whoring over-tanned tanuki-girls of shibuya.

If you're there till December I can't recommend getting out of Tokyo enough. Hit up Hiroshima (good times there I promise) and spend the night at an inn there. A weekend is enough to get some pretty memorable shit done. And don't don't don't miss out on Yokohama. My favorite town in Japan period.

I can tell you like anime/manga stuff so I'd take a trip down to the Mandarake location in Nakano:

It's real close to a train stop (although I forget which train line goes there). 3 floors of vintage and modern-age japanese pop culture stuff for everyone. If you can't make it out there then at least make it to the one in Shibuya. It's only one floor and it specializes in doujin books but it's got plenty of other stuff to gawk at, if not buy.

Kyoto is a good place to visit, I go to Japan every summer for like 3 months to visit family/friends and I absolutely love it. I don't know how old you are or what you're into.

If you want to meet girls/go clubbing go to Roppongi, if you want to see some Japanese shit I found Kyoto to be more of a uh... well, it's more of an older style city. Lots of shrines/temples and there is of course a lot of night life and other stuff to do.

If you want to go to some nerd places Akihabara, Den Den town, Mandarake (which is in Nakano at the broadway mall I think it was called), and of course, fuckin' Shinsaibashi is a must for everyone (wave to the giant glico man for me =P) If you want to go to amusement parks I only know of two... There's that one in mount fuji (which is also a really nice place to visit) and I think the other good one is Expoland (though it's in Okinawa >_<).

If you're in Tokyo go to Tokyo tower definitely though... the view form up there is breathtaking, especially at night, and while you're there you can visit the pokemon center that's down the street! Uhm that's all I can think of atm, hope you're having fun, you're making me jealous >< Can't wait for summer again now lol.

Yeah if you can front the cost of a shinkansen ticket heading out to Kyoto is good, but really you see one temple you've seen them all. Kyoto makes it too easy to spend your entire day lost in a temple. Go to the biggest ones with the crowds and get it out of your system. Then jump back on the train and spend the rest of your weekend in Osaka. Get your ridiculous portions of food, see the nightlife, eat some cheap and delicious crab, etc. etc. It's like Tokyo but with slightly better prices and a more laid-back feel to everything.
