As long as you don't mind waiting 2 hours for a hamburger.

    But yeah, they're really good.

Oh I forgot to mention, House of Blues Anaheim is close to the Hilton. You can listen to some good music. (Gogo Puffy Amiyumi on Sunday ^^, and Social D) http://hob.com/tickets/searchresults.asp?venue=Anaheim

I'll be driving to Fanfest so I'll have wheels if some people want to go get some foodstuffs. I'll also be bringing a gamecube for some smash bros if anyone is into that. Still need to find a room though lol...

I'm coming in late Friday night, so I won't be around the festival until Saturday. The only thing I have planned is going to Arcade Infinity out in Rowland Heights on my way back home on saturday evening.

What he said. Carl's is just Hardee's under a different name. Skip it.

In-n-Out? Totally different animal. By the way, they have a "secret" menu: http://www.badmouth.net/in-n-outs-secret-menu/ They try to keep everything simple so don't list much on their menu, but there's lots of options.

If you have any non-meat eaters in your group, they do a "grilled cheese" which is basically a burger without the meat. I don't even notice the lack of meat, it tastes like a burger to me (sauce, cheese, all that) -- I haven't eaten meat in eight or so years though, so if you're a meat eater you might not agree with me.

"Animal style fries" rock. And they'll change your order any way you like, just say what you want. It's fast food like no other fast food. They pay their workers really seriously well and use fresh food and all that.

    Now I'm hungry. :/

Edit: As someone else said, it can take a while to get your food. That whole 'fresh food, made to order' thing holds it up. I've spent 30-45 minutes waiting in the drive through line before (noontime), which sucks. It's really, really good food though and I keep going back so the wait must be worth it.

    Filet
    Top Sirloin
    Bottom Sirloin
    House Special
    Garlic Beef
    Beef Ribs
    Pork Tenderloin
    Filet wrapped in Bacon
    Chicken wrapped in Bacon
    Parmesan Pork
    Lamb Chop

    And more.

I promise you will not be disappointed.
Now that is what I call a man's restaurant. Just make sure u clean your colan after the night of heavy meat eating and large amounts of alcohol. Lol.

    Re: Fanfest "other" attractions

They closed all the Hardees around my area years ago. =(

Though a huge wait for burgers? =o That intrigues me.

4 hours till I leave home to catch my plane. D= And now I have to try to sleep. For 3 hours.

in n out sucks...small burgers, decreasing quality of meat over the years, they've lost their touch. Though they may be good to first timers, but you'll have to order a 4 by 4 or something expensive (for "fast" food) to actually get a fill of the tiny things

    Re: Fanfest "other" attractions

burgers are burgers....i feel my arteries thicken by just thinking about it.

btw, dick's in seattle is far superier to in-n-out and dick's costs less, too..but i still think both are gross

Well, Commerce Casino is about a 20 minute drive north. It is the world's largest poker room. However, I hate it there. I think it is a pretty dirty place and the players there complain about everything. I'm sure it's different if you play the high limit games (15-30 or higher limit or $1000 no-limit). I haven't been there in years though, so, it may have changed.

About 5 minutes away from Commerce is The Bicycle Casino. I love that place. It's very clean. The players are much calmer. I'd recommend going there.

You'll probably find more games and less of a wait at Commerce though.

Walked for 30 minutes to an In-and-Out and had a 2x2 Animal style- the fries were horrible but the burger and store environment more than made up for it!

For visitors, In -N- Out really is a MUSTeat because it is too good.

I don't know if most will have cars or what not...but there is a lot to see around. There is the Block at Orange which is an outisde mall. http://www.simon.com/mall/directory.aspx?ID=1236

There is also Irvine Spectrum http://www.shopirvinespectrumcenter.com/ which is another outside mall.

A REALLY REALLY good Japanese BBQ place is located in Costa Mesa called Anjin http://www.yelp.com/biz/anjin-costa-mesa

Sadly I can't go home to California to attend... but I hope you guys have fun. ^^

Also, for all the time I lived there, never really liked LA so don't know much about what's out there. And you should hang out at the beach, always nice.

If nothing else... there is always Disneyland. ;p

    I HIGHLY recommend In-and-Out
If your looking for the best of the best (and dont mind the calories) get:

Double Double with Whole Grilled Onions, Animal Style
Animal Style Fries with extra sauce
    Large Chocolate Shake.

In-n-Out has a secret hidden menu. Any place which allows you to program your burger is ok by me.

Downtown Disney is walking distance from the hotel. There are a few bars there. Fritz's gentlemen's club is a $10 cab ride from there.
