i think its time for almost all these topics to be remade into v2. Seperating pre and post updates. My xbox is out of commision and rather than read through 6 pages of speculation during the fanfest to find 4 posts about new stuff ;o
melee, I would imagine. nothing dancer does is under the magic menu and they have no native MPOriginally Posted by Gere
That would be my guess too, but you never know with SE.Originally Posted by Priran
Melee is correct. I was very dissapointed. ; ;Originally Posted by Gere
From what I read, drain samba doesn't replenish HP?
..? That would be rather useless. No, it replenishes HP, it just doesn't hurt the monster like normal Drain does.Originally Posted by Tricen
Oooh... So it's not like a melee hit for 12 and a drain for 6 isn't 18dmg. It's taking a % of the dmg you already delt and giving you the HP back. GotchaOriginally Posted by EternityEnd
They do replenish HP but they don't drain HP from the mob/player. Ex. Ballista: Person has 20HP you attack and deal 10 dmg + drain 5 the person will have 10HP instead of 5. It only takes a small percentage of your damage and turns into heals without doing added damage to the mob. :/Originally Posted by Tricen
Edit: Post at same time. Oh well!
So, essentially, Drain Samba instead of actually DRAINING hp from the monster and giving it to you (aka: DRAIN) when you strike it, you are merely cured for small amount by your connected melee hits. In the end, Drain Samba = Regenga for accurate melee party members.
edit: beat! :\
I was just thinking, how badass for a MNK/WAR and even MNK/DRK during zerg fights would be during 2hr + Drain Samba 3, I'm just assuming awesomeness, they self regulate their own health back.
So...any word on what subs? I see mostly /MNK for 1-20.
Yeah /MNK works fine below 20, but play around with the job. Theres no sure fire sub for this job and probably wont be for a while. Some people here have been main healing, I've personally been blink tanking with another DNC/NIN (which btw has been working exactly like NIN/WAR pre Ni). -_-;Originally Posted by Zimbabwe Justice
To Koyangi: Think you can only have 1 added effect proc soooooooooooo yeah. It'll be choosing Souleater or Drain Samba. Actually we need to have this tested.
I'm not entirely sure on that. Had a monk hundred fists in a pt and everything was healing him 0-2 hp back. I don't think he was at full health, but I think the low delay from HF might nuke the drain effect. But only one instance isn't enough to be sure.Originally Posted by Koyangi
When accumulating Steps to save for Finishing Moves, if your Step doesnt change the counter because it's already capped at Lv5, you get 1 instead 2 Finishing Moves.
facts: you cap at 5 on each specific step used on a mob as well as capping at 5 Finishing Moves on an icon on top of your screen.
each successful Step you use increases your counter by 2 (until cap), and mob receives step effect at lvl+1. If you have put for example Box Step Lv5 on the mob, and you use it again and it also hasnt wore off from the mob, you accumulate 1 Finishing Move instead of 2.
the good news is this probly means the mob does not have to have mp for aspir samba to work, unless this has already been proven wrong/right?Originally Posted by Tricen
Haste Samba takes 35 TP, it didnt lower my recast timer on Ichi at all, so it's descriptiopn is strictly only attack speed of those engaged and doesnt look like it effects any kind of spells.
Wrong. It needs to have MP. Fortunately this one actually does the drain the mob/players MP. Guess SE thought this one wouldn't be too broken.Originally Posted by XxSlusherxx
