Question about Lu Shang's Rod and the Key item.

Does the Key item obtained from the Lu Shang's Quest do anything? The Rod is only about 2mil on my server and I can farm 2m before I can get 10,000 Carp.

So is there any advantages with doing the quest rather then just buying the rod?

i like it purely for the text on it, but i probably wouldn't do the quest just for a fast laugh. you might check the price on moats though. 10,000 of them are often cheaper than a lu, and if you're willing to scour AHes for a bit, you can easily amass 10k of them. that's how i did it back in the day and i saved a good chunk of change.

Someone posted test results on titanictus.com quite a while ago that strongly suggest the key item does nothing, or almost nothing. I still quested rather than bought my rod, however (completed quest in log, sense of achievement, poor, not very bright...take your pick).
