Quick question,
Does maintenance reset the GP item and/or cap? Can I do my points for the guild and then after maintenance do another set? I haven't personally tried and was wondering if anyone has done this or not been able to.

I think they are the same as dynamis timers, whereas they do not reset. It has been a long time since I did guild points.. so not 100% sure.
They reset at JP midnight only.
I tried doing what's in the OP, but the above is correct.Originally Posted by Pyree
Only way you can do GP twice in one day is to turn in a batch, rank up by turning in the appropriate test item, then turn in the item for your new rank.
That's not entirely true. The only way you can get more guild points from this method is if the item asked for at the new rank has a higher cap than the old rank. And even then, you only get the difference between the caps.Originally Posted by Bordu
As an example using guild point items that were asked for today in Clothcraft. Assuming you start the day as Adept, the item asked for is a Cape. You turn in the maximum of those to get all 1600 possible points and then rank up to Veteran. The item asked for now is Tarutaru Sash, which normally would cap at 6480 points, but you'll only be able to get 4880 additional points.
Basically using this method you can get the highest cap's points in one day, but you cannot get both.
No. As the guy above me said, you could only do the difference in the two that way. You cannot do a whole new turn in.Originally Posted by Bordu
Whenever possible, I like saving my rank ups, then when I don't like a turn in item, I can rank and do the higher one instead.
I stand corrected.
