Item Appraisal from Assault (Any tricks?)

Since assaults were available the core crew of my static has only gotten one good drop from appraisal, spectacles, and that was october last year. I don't mind the odd pickaxe to complement my 6 stacks i fail mining kroma ore with.
- As the subject states... are there any tricks to getting better appraisals? Do certain assaults have a better drop percentage? Is the general type of item dependant on day of the week or time mission is completed, or the number of members participating, or the high/low rank of members?

Preface: I haven't looked really hard through the myriads of posts here so i am sure i've missed this discussion. Much of my assault static have finished TAU and are 1st Lt's. I'm sitting on 150k assault points, hoarding them for the time i can do salvage daily. One night we did Nyzul Level 55s. Got a ??? Ring of Bloodsucker. I went ALL the way to Nashmau to appraise it..... and it was a Silver Ring.


After we did one run more... got 2 Bloodsuckers and 2 ??? Rings.... just appraised them in WG since it was late as fuck.... and one was a Bloodbead ring.


Karma is a bitch... appraises have low low %... all there is left is to pray hard!

nyzul appraise is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY HIGHERRRRRRRRRRRRR than assault appraise

whenever i get a ??? item from a good NM, im always getting rdy to cast lot

i got trotter boots and valis bow 1/1 from simurgh and the shadow NM

also appraised a peacock amulet with random JP grp which i lost lot w

as for normal assault, i was grinding lebros walls way back and only got 1 storm loop out of 19 trips, got a volunteer's scythe from whichever assault 1/1 and then 0/872136837216 on omicorn ring

the only item i look forward in regular assault is ??? box which has high chance of soulflayer staff

i dont understand why make nyzul appraise so much higher, like 25%, while regular assaults are 99% garbage

Also, the more useless the item is, odds are the more likely you'd pop it.

I remembered one time we did like 3 Ryaaf for 3 ??? polearms and appraised 2 yigit staff out of it.

But really, I'm gonna have to go with pure, unadulterated, dumb luck

I have done a metric shitton of Nyzul Isle. Up to floor 95 with one group on my first character and 25 with my second. Only once have I ever seen a good item appraise from the ??? items- Serket Ring. Everything else has either been garbage (silver earring!) or low-level stuff (fruit punches!). And those stupid Gusgen Mines NM ghosts with their sucktastic rings. Hate them so much.

It really is luck... I have gotten Pi ring, Ksi Sash, and Phi Necklace so my group has been pretty lucky with me being the beneficiary (mostly because they don't care about appraisals, so I tell them what items I want). The trick is persistence.

"Just" 1/19 on Storm Loop from Lebros?

Lulz, my group got a storm loop on a Lebros recently, putting me at about 1/atleast40+. Of course, the one time it chooses to drop, I was on my alt character who's only got BLM lvld. x.x

We went 1/3 on Sanguine Sword.

1/2-3 on Kosetsuamonji.

1/15-20 somewhere on Storm Turban.

1/4-ish on Phi Necklace.

These five drops was acquired in over a year and a half of Assaults, going twice a week for most of that time, once a week for the past few months.
