Fenrir's Dark Mana Orb after changing nations?

I reached Windurst Rank 10 but then switched nations. I recently saw some posts about beating Fenrir as a rank 10 to get a Dark Mana Orb (which can be given to the SOBs for a cutscene after Promise Badge is done).

I did a forum search but I couldn't find an answer to this question: if I go beat Fenrir now, will I get a Dark Mana Orb? Or do I need to switch back to Windurst first?

I got my Dark Mana Orb after I changed nations twice, and got the cutscene with the SOB. It is a great cutscene.

Sorry to drag this out but just to confirm - you were NOT Windurstian when you got the Dark Mana Orb from Fenrir?

It works, it's just that I didnt remembered doing it in the other thread.

The game remembers all quests and missions you have done before, it's not like your mission list is wiped after you swap nationality and that's why you can also go back and assist others with supposedly nation-exclusive BCNM fights. It's a really long time but I'm pretty sure I too got Fenrir's orb after swapping away from Windurst and I'm absolutely positive got both DRG and BLM AF3 extended cutscenes that only rank 10 Sandorian/Windurstians get when I was Bastokan. Current nationality does not matter at all for quest bonus bits. Hey I can still use my Inner Horutoto 3-mage door key too, tarus never asked for it back! :D

I beat Windy Mission 9-2, changed nations to San d'Oria, beat Sandy 9-2, changed back to Bastok (already rank 10), and eventually beat Fenrir and got the Dark Mana Orb months later.

You get a short CS in Windurst at the SoB's headquarters (behind the storage building in Port Windy) that just wraps up the quest series, nothing utterly amazing but a cute ending.

If only the other nations could have a cool series of quests that went along with the main mission, and offered an optional ending cut scene for completing them....
