What are the currently known ways to obtain Coral Fragment? I see RMT(or players?) being able to sell 2-3d a day, but I can't seem to find any up-to-date thread concerning coral fragment, I believe a while ago, SE removed coral fragment from a few of the common fishing spots?

Choco Digging, Desynths, and I still fish them up in places.

If it wouldn't ruin your income, I would like to ask where you fish them and your setup(rod, etc), otherwise, never mind, I will try to find it myself(at least you confirmed that it can still be fished up).

Is A45 Choco digging good enough for it? I tried West Altepa a few times, but it's almost always dug up.

I guess I could give Sahagin another try when my RDM static is done, hopefully I will have my Assassin's armlets by then.

Gettin' up there on my PLD, so here's my question: In what order is generally best to merit PLD specific merits?
My plan will be as follows:

5 Sentinel Recast
5 Rampart Recast
3 Chivalry
1 Fealty
1 Iron Will
1 Guardian

Obviously, unlocking Chivalry and Fealty comes first. What would you say is the best way to proceed after that?

Frankly I would take the 6 merits you'll use opening up Iron Will and Fealty and spend them on Guardian upgrades. I don't really know of any PLD who use Iron Will since the addition of Shield Mastery. Fealty seemed to me like such a flaky JA as you would need to know that a mob is going to cast a spell on you before it actually happens to have much effect.

However, if other Paladins have positive experiences with Fealty then let us know.

Well, as an RDM, I've noticed some of the more pro PLDs in my LS putting up Fealty to counter a bunch of status effects, particularly Break(ga) in numerous events. Mainly, I want it as an additional hate tool for PLD than for the actual effect of the JA.

As far as Guardian goes, it's a great trait but only for the 30 seconds Sentinel is active, during which I may or may not even be the target of attacks if I'm co-blinktanking. Since it doesn't actually effect how much hate I accumulate compared to how much hate I lose, it doesn't seem too valuable to me beyond unlocking it. I'm a huge fan of reducing spell interruption though despite Shield Mastery, mainly because a shield isn't 100% reliable like many PLDs pass it off to be.

I have 3 Guardian/3 Chivalry from before the Sentinel change and I can tell a major difference for /WAR as the damage reduction tapers off, not so much /NIN..going to drop it to 2 for Fealty once I get around to meriting again

A45 is probably to low due to the competition there. With A10 i am lucky if i get 2-3, because most of the time the area is dug up. The other way i know is killing sahagins for 1~hour with TH4 ... I heard you can get some from clamming and excavating too.

Need a gorget for Slugwinder, don't think I'll ever take another melee to 75, and I don't even do Dynamis so no Relic ever. Which gorget would be best? I already have 3 Aern. Looking for fastest soloability/farming on RDM, since I don't do sea anymore either.

On my WAR I have Mythril +1 (depending on if I'm just doing a Steel Cyclone thing) or Pole Strap. On my RDM I have Bugard +1. For SMN my guess would be Staff Strap for the MP and -enmity but I'm not a SMN (nor will I ever be).

RDM vs. Prime avatars solo: /NIN or gtfo? If I do it /NIN, I will probably use Full yigit.

Kinda lazy to invest in a lolmelee setup, when I still lack actual mage pieces more useful.

Of course suggestions and ideas are welcome.

I've done Shiva, Ramuh, and Ifrit on RDM/BLM. I strongly recommend RDM/NIN though. The fights are a lot safer, easier, and faster on RDM/NIN. Since it is your first attempt, you definitely want to go /NIN. Try to use as much haste gear as you can to maximize the amount of damage from en-spells, and for Utsusemi recast. Also, you will only be able to land enfeebles that are strong to that avatar. (Slow on Ramuh, Gravity on Titan, Poison on Ifrit, and Paralyze on Garuda.)

with everyone using brutal earring-and-something i have no idea why anyone would use another strap for 2h dd wep(not counting vulcans rng), i did 2092 guillotine at 62 drk with it, no brd no cor, just SE LR on Colibiri at tower camp, sam sub and probly nq mithka, trying to remember, judging by the tp i had after ws (20 iirc? cant remember whats normal without extra hit) it was the double attack that accounted for the 400 or so higher than normal dmg

mage staves is more situational and depends on the rest of ur gear i just use bugard +1 for all my mage jobs as i like it best for blm and brd and its good enough for whm and smn

Is seiryu weak to slashing, take more damage from all physical damage, or just have really low vit or something? I've always wondered why I hit crazy numbers on him, but no sites list anything special.
