How is it?
Extremely busy and no time to try it out atm =(
curious too.Originally Posted by Julian
Getting it tomorrow (not out here yet ;-, will be an epic game. One of the best DS games; the previous games are so fun, and reviews say it's the best of the (DS) series.
Is there WiFi this time around? May pick it up if so, I can only play against an AI that kicks my ass so many times in the War Room before I get bored.
(shame there wasn't a full-fledged single-cart multiplayer mode in Dual Strike)
99% there is wifi and mic support
Never tried either of the first 2. This is an RTS right?
Seems like I should give it a shot.
It's a TBS, and one with a large-ass amount of depth to go with it. Every unit has that rock-paper-scissor-tank-recon-submarine-boat-etc strength/weakness system to it.
Simple appearance (well, probably not in this one with its new art mood), but highly addictive once you get past the initial learning curve.
Anyways, awesome to hear it has mic support.
(even if it'll be FC-only; beats the crap out of handwriting everything)
I want to pick this up eventually, just got GG Accent Core though, so Days of Ruin can wait...
The new Will guy looks pretty cool. Hoping it has that same frustratingly difficulty the last few maps in Advance Wars 2 had.
Fire emblem does it better <shrug>Originally Posted by Kaisha

Brand new world? Or same world and characters?
From what I've read, all new, no returning characters/no plot relation.
(aside from the fact there's war always going on <.<)
that is kind of depressing. I have an insane amount of love for Grit's character. He was like the Jim Raynor of AW.Originally Posted by Kaisha

I like the new world though, gives the developers to have a proper excuse to make a plot that doesn't revolve around the 'uber COs save world from danger, OH NOES, more foes out of nowhere appear and want to destroy all humans' setup.
Anyways, IGN's review is up. Looks like I'll be picking this up soon'ish.
(shame War Room was dropped, that was my main excuse to keep on playing past the main campaign)
So apparently dinosaurs died because they didnt have fireproof surfboards, lol.
Think of it almost like Pokemon, but insted of cutsey creatures you've got Mechanized Battalions and Artillery Batteries.Originally Posted by Po
I love these type of games so much. I think I like Advance Wars more than Fire Emblem because I don't feel bad about sacrificing units for strategy (i.e. gumming up choke points with trash units and exploiting indirect, then mopping up with tank units afterwards) while in Fire Emblem you never want to lose any unit and have to play much more carefully. There is some satisfaction in winning with no causalities but in reality I prefer to win in the most effective manner, and sometimes that means losing units. I do like leveling up my units like in Fire Emblem and carrying them from battle to battle so I play both and appreciate each for what separates it from the other games in the genre.
I'm anxious to play this one.
Going to pick it up today at lunch. I liked all the previous games and have high hopes for this one.
no andy/eagle? whyyyyy hyper upgrade and lightning strike nooo;;;;;
