Soo, the demo is out on PSN and XBL Marketplace. I beat the boss and did the 10 minute thing. It's a lot of fun, even though the fire guy cheats.

What's everyone's take on this game/demo?

Pretty fun, managed to kill Belial on the 10-minute limit mode. He's actually incredibly easy, just wait till his fire goes down, slash him, then grab and throw. Repeat like 3 times and he's down, managed to kill him in 43 seconds last time, lol.

The demo is on Easy mode though, so we won't be seeing the true difficulty of the game until the release

And what are you talking about? I have it on the PS3 right now and i'm in the US. It went up a couple of hours ago. So if you're on a US account try rebooting your console or something because it SHOULD show up.

Still pissed the demo is xbox live gold only at the moment. I'll pick up DMC4 not too long after it comes out though. Gotta support the only power ranger that still gets work, right?

Actually, I think you are wrong.
I downloaded it like 3 hours ago, and I use a US account.
It was right there on the opening page for the PSN...
So US can actually get it, maybe it just didn't get uploaded when you tried?

Gah I can't wait to go play this in ~1 hour or so.

I was listening to 1up yours podcast and they talked a shitton about it last week. They said the most awesome weapon in this history of the DMC series you get with like only 10 minutes left to play in the game. It is a suitcase which can turn into essentially any kind of weapon you can imagine by a series of button presses. They were speculating it was a cheap way for Capcom to get you to play through the game again. But seemingly a good reason at the same time.

What was your guys fave weapon/boss from DMC3?

Mine were the dual swords and Beowulf because he seemed to be one of the hardest (save for cheap as hell Virgil 2) so I got the greatest satisfaction in beating him.

Fire horse is really easy, just use the devil bringer whenever his flames are down. The only attack that can't be dodged by a single jump is the area of effect one that he uses after you throw him. 3 throws = KO

I wish I knew where my DMC3 SE disc went Pirating a copy for now so I can play again. Found my original PS2 disc, but I don't have my DMD save on that any more

So, would it be worth the $20 to play the first three (never played 2nd or 3rd) in order to know what the fuck is going on in this one, or are these not "that kind of game"?

I think DMC3 is the most worth it, since it was a prequel to the whole series. Which told the story of why Dante began to do what he did, and what happened to his brother, etc.

The story was actually pretty intriguing.

I never played any of the other three, but I played the demo and it seems pretty fun

first one is worth playing. hard to believe its been 6 years already, and it holds up well. downloading demo when i get home *damn work*

the 2nd i'd avoid. It's not connected to 1 or 3 in any way. and wasnt that great compared to 1 and 3.
from what i saw in the previews, thrish(from DMC1) and Lady(DMC3) are both in 4. tho it looks like the story doesnt focus on dante in 4, so you can probably get along without playing 1 and 3.
1 and 3 arent that connected. the storys dont depend on each other, but playing both makes the experience overall better.

especially when you see the "secret" ending of dmc3 and you find out what happened to vergil and that he was that dark knight guy in dmc1
