Supposedly its supposed to be like 2.5 (in between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith) where Anakin and ObiWan go off together and try to keep the Republic together. There is also a cartoon coming out on Cartoon Network/Fox? that deals with the same kind of stuff.

Those animated shorts from CN are a few years old already.. where ya been? They are fantastic tho and they're on DVD so go get em.

I heard about this new thing back around the time the shorts came out.. there was a rumor about a third season of Clone Wars shorts that fit in the timeline after Episode 3 but it was never released. It looks like they decided to make it into a CGI flick instead.

I thought I read in USA Today that there was more cartoons coming out in the next year.... I may be wrong and they were just mentioning the old ones. But I really think they mentioned this movie being a kind of intro to a new Star Wars cartoon series to be aired on Cartoon Network (via WB Studios)

The Jedi also are aligned with a new studio. Though 20th Century Fox released the previous Star Wars movies, this film comes from Warner Bros., corporate sibling of Cartoon Network and TNT. Lucasfilm Animation is producing both the film and TV series and has created 30 episodes.

The Clone Wars cartoon was highly stylized, action packed, and very well done. Easily better than the last 3 movies. Really, George Lucas should have just let those guys do them....

I dont know why they dropped the 2D for the slightly scary CGI models, but if the same people are involved, the new series has the potential to be good anyway.

The cartoon network clone wars was amazing. Same guy who did dexter's lab and samurai jack, so of course it was awesome. I don't think he's working on this one though, at least according to wikipedia.

What they should do instead is make movies based off of Grand Admiral Thrawn. Loved the book series to death and the people who actually liked the clones get to see them all over again.

Just please not let George Lucas near the script... I don't think I could handle another, "Sand, I hate sand. It's so course and rough. Unlike you."
