It looks promising however you have to have a valid POL ID and Working FFXI Content ID. Hopefully they can get around POL somehow.

They'd been working on that years ago, I stopped caring when I noticed they'd been working on it for years and still almost nothing worked.

... I can't really blame them... SE has it kinda locked down with POL but the progress looks good and I hear they are still working. Some are even working on a bypass for POL... Or it seems.

Most games with private servers (ie. RO) have commands that you can just type to move wherever you want.

Someone on 4chan posted a while back that there was a working private XI server but they refused to release their info saying they didn't want a bunch of douchebags to screw it all up.

The guy was probably talking out of his ass but it makes me wonder why would you WANT to have less people on your server? It's hard enough to find people to do stuff on the real servers. lol

If you are the first person officially showing that you have a fully working privat server you will most likly get legaly punished. Only when the amount of servers is extremly high, like RO, L2, WoW it becomes almost imposible for the company to remove every single one of them and as result they won't do much about them.
I don't believe that there is any working privat FFXI server tho. I still look on project XI forum every few weeks but theres no progress at all most of the time. In my opinion atm the only way to get a working server is getting it leaked from inside of SE. A bored GM or a guy whos getting fired or some random person stealing the server version at a fan fest or game expo.

Personally I think it would be rad to have a private server. That would completely make me come back to the game if I could play with 20-30 close friends where gil wouldn't be an issue because everything would be openly traded to help one another advance.

There would be no competition for resources either. The only downside being more time would have to be spent on tedious things like mining, harvesting, etc.

I'll take the 6+ months I waited to get my ridill and ebody over setting it so you can solo Fafnir with 0h2h skill at level 10 and have Ridill drop 100%.
