NM Question, not sure where to put!

hi, Me and my brother were duo'ing Demonic Tiphia just the other day, and we got her to around 20% and she used Final Sting.
But heres the thing, she used it, she died, we got drops and such... but it didnt do ANY Damage at all.
It just said, "Demonic Tiphia readies Final Sting" and that was it.
No damage, no follow up, no "Miss!" Above my head or in chat log, just readied, used, Died.

Anyone ever experience this glitch with Demonic Tiphia, or any OTHER bee at all?
Kinda wish i'd taken a damn picture But i didnt think about it till it was to late

Well, my first question would be, do you have it set so that damage only shows in your chat log and you have your filters on? If so, that'd be one explanation. Or did you happen to swap gear as Tiphia was doing the Final Sting, since I've done that when a mob's used a tp move on me and the damage or effect doesn't show in my chat log.

If the Final Sting didn't show up in either yours or your brother's log though, it's possible that the server just lagged out a bit and, in catching back up, simply didn't show it.

Can't it miss? And then maybe the miss was swallowed by the chat log due to equip swaps? idk, never killed it, just guessing.

I suppose it's possible, to me, I always equated final sting with mijin gakure, and I've never seen a mijin miss, but it's possible.

Yah i had considered the chat log thing, but as someone pointed out. i would have been dead... also no damage was done to me at all, HP stayed the same, i even when back in the chat log to look a few times.

There was no follow up, just "Demonic Tiphia Readies Final Sting"

She did the whole "Final Sting" Animation, just no damage recorded, no shadows taken, no "Miss", i had no chat filters on for Party or myself (Only "Others")
There was no indication that she used it other then the fact she did the animation and died

The bees by Sozu Rogberry are nasty with their Final Sting. I took close to 800 damage on THF with that crap. It's stupid that the move totally ignores Shadows.

Yeah, I've killed it several times solo simply waiting for it to use Final Sting and I have seen it use it as high as 35% and it has only done 500 max ever. This was on MNK/NIN.

If you mean is it a hit or miss instant-death on the player targeted then no. It is simply a somewhat damaging TP move that kills the mob itself in the process.

On MNK/NIN, DT's final sting usually does ~400. I usually solo it with NPC just in case, but I've never come close to dying from it, and I've held it for over an hour before. I think you're just unlucky, Sath.

However, that sounds like some sort of glitch.. I've never had it happen to me with any bee.

Well, I guess i'll write it off as getting lucky, seeing as how if it DID hit me, i would have been dead.



Anyone every resisted Throat Stab >_>?
yesterday the TonberrY NM with the crown (Bonze Malberry i think) Throat Stabed me for only 128 DMG (was at full HP when it happened too...)

I've had throat stab's damage reduced to ~100, like you said, after trying to run away from it but not getting entirely out of range. Maybe it's linked to your distance from it? It would be kind've difficult to slash someone's throat who's almost out of range.

That is what happened, it is tied to distance.

I've spent wayyy to much time in temple lol.

I'm pretty sure Final Sting is indeed like Mijin. It's definitely HP based, it ignores shadows, and I've honestly never seen it miss. That's not to say it can't, I didn't level alchemy, so my bee slaughtering experiences are somewhat limited.

Sounds like a weird glitch to me.
