    Job and Battle System Adjustments (03/06/2008)

    A number of job and battle system adjustments have been scheduled for the next version update.

    New Magic and Job Abilities

    A host of new magic and job abilities will be added to a number of jobs for the next version update. For example, teleport spells for the white mage, a warp spell for the black mage, sneak ninjutsu for the ninja, elemental spirit MP absorption ability for the summoner, and new automaton weapon skills for the puppetmaster.

    Additions and adjustments are also in store for the two new jobs introduced in the Wings of the Goddess expansion.
    For the dancer, adjustments will include shortened ability delay to six seconds for all waltzes used when trance is in effect. Adjustments for the scholar will see an increase in the maximum number of charges available for stratagems, and a reduction in charge time.

    Apart from job abilities, new status-specific status icons will be also introduced to further enhance playability.

    Shortened Immobility Duration

    The issue whereby certain restoration magic causes the character to become temporarily immobile, will be addressed. Up until now, casting cure on a character immediately after they initiate the attack command will result in that character becoming unable to move until spellcasting is complete, even after they have assumed battle stance. This immobility duration will be reduced drastically with the next version update.

    WHM teleports: "eh~" might help campaign participation...
    BLM warps: "eh~" same as above
    NIN sneak: "about time." never understood why a ninja couldn't sneak,
    SMN spirits: "neat." finally a possible use for those scrolls that have an entire section of the AH to themselves
    PUP weaponskills: "yes!" getting my hopes up for this one... maybe something useful vs HNM defense
    DNC trance timers: "eh~" I've used trance once... it's almost as suicidal as benedictin, now moreso
    SCH strategems: "good..." badly needed, just hope they do it enough to make job worth a slot in the ally
    Status Icons: "neat." I don't use font/icon mods so this'll be a nice change (wish it was visible, like sleeping jnun)
    Cure-lock: "fuck yeah!" Good lord, did they just get the 4 year old memo about this?

    I think the warp spell sends you to your home nation in the past. At least that is what they said a while ago.

    Looks like this is another one of those updates where I get to be greedy and have 4/5 of my jobs adjusted. Fine by me. But you're right, I still think they're hiding something else.

    Teleports - Hoping for Leyline and maybe old areas.

    Warp - I imagine it'll be like the Moogle Cap where it'll warp the target to their Home Nation.

    Sneak Ninjutsu - This'll cost a pretty penny if it isn't sold by an NPC. Prepare for a shitload of bitching if it's 38+.

    Smn - lol @ using Spirits in a sirius situation.

    Pup - Yay for all the Pups.

    Dnc - Nice thought, but it still doesn't fix the endgame issue, especially since it only comes into play every 2 hours. Now if it was 6 seconds without Trance in effect, then we'd be talking. And even then it wouldn't be all that helpful. I'd rather be able to target anyone regardless of if I'm in their party or not. Or at the very least, Alliance members.

    Sch - Sounds good for them.

    I hope they do a bit more with Scholar than what they mention, Thats a great improvement but it needed something else to make it party spot worthy. Warp and Teleports will be to the past no doubt.

    Hmmm those new Teleport and Warp spells will be interesting....
    But a moogle cap type deal would be a lil redundant really... since most peoples HP is in their Home nation
    and if the teles are to the past.. where would they go?

    I just saw that they're making changes to specific icons... i wonder if they'll be better than brandsons.... i might need to change it back =/ then again... SE's Utsu icon was strangely familiar to Brandson's... so maybe they'll just "copy" that

    Also, the increase in max charges of strategems probably is distributed throughout levels. Which probably means another charge pre-37

    I think they'll add only one more Teleport for WHM - Teleport-Wajoam. Same as Olduum Ring. Which noone uses anymore. Yay!
