I just got a Wii today for my bday and picked up smash. My cousin called me said he was using the n64 controller. he meant the gamecube controller right? Cause i dont see a spot of a n64 remote.
I've been using wiimote/nunchuck fairly well so far. takes a little to get used to, but no wavebird so I'll stick to my wireless wiimote
I haven't tried using the GCN controller for Brawl yet, so I've been sticking with wiimote and nunchuk. I'm trying to get used to using that cuz I don't think anyone that wants to come over and play will use them. haha

Holstered/gripped classic controller, and a gamecube controller with the springs removed from the shoulder buttons. The former gives me the orientation that keeps the controller from shifting in my hands (and sets the analog over my left hand instead of somewhere down in the middle) and the latter fixes the lack of analog shielding.
i tried all of them, this is what i like:
1: Custom Classic set
2: gamecube
3: custom wiimote/nunchuck
4: wiimote
i actually like and can play with them all, its kinda nice. but i prefer the classic cause it feels just like the controller i used to play smash 64 on my pc
My nunchuck hand is severely cramped right now. Gonna try classic on my next go-round.Originally Posted by Sho
I'm usiong Wiimote+nunchuck. It does give an unfair advantage to GCN controller users, but whatever.
Been using the wiimote+nunchuck, but my hands are small, so the nunchuck cramps my hand after awhile so I am going to try the classic controller next.
I've been doing wiimote + nunchuck so far. I like it, I find it to be pretty fluid and you dont need to reposition much to do different moves or anything.
Using Wii remote + nunchuck, I planned on using gamecube controllers but I can't find any of the four I used to have <_<
The nunchuck isn't that bad now that I realized there's a shield and jump button on it as well as the joystick...
Im noticing lag or something with the GC controller. It's not letting me do my held smashes properly. sometimes it wont smash it'll just do >a, and it's annoying as hell when trying to do a held smash on someone floating down onto you. also when i try to stop the rapid A and end it with a smash it continues the rapid A lol... I kinda want to start using the Wiimote+chuck but im intimidated by it online.
wavebirding it up liek a pimp
Started out using a gamecube controller, but I've been using wiimote + nunchuck lately and I'm getting pretty good with it.
Gamecube and sometimes the Wii Remote and nun chuck since we only have 3 controllers right now.
Gamecube... but any time I'm stuck with a wiimote combination the first thing I do is unplug that nunchuk.
Donno, feels sloppy to me.
I am using my Wavebird, don't notice any lag or anything with it.
