Mob TP with Barrage

Hi. Idk if anyone else has asked this (I couldn't find a specific thread when I searched the forums), but I was wondering how much TP a mob gains from Barrage?

I know how basic mob TP is calculated, and I know that multi-hit WS are exceptions in that u get TP for original shot, then 1 for each successive hit that lands.

Is Barrage calculated the same way, or is the mob just given TP for "hitting" the first time? Or does it receive a load of TP as well?

It receives TP as if it were 5-6 individual shots. At least this is the way I always observed it.

Depending on how many shots actually land 1,2,3,4,5,6 it would give the mob....

I agree. I was just assuming a full hit barrage.

Yeah. So be careful in the scorpion KS30 lol. Once I woke my scorp up with a barrage after the first BLM sleep when we were low manning it, and it immediately used a TP attack and woke the others

You've just given the reason why I don't bring melee when doing that KS30 lol.

This is why rng's using barrage on Orc NM's in Dynamis is a bad thing.

I'll say this about Blm's, I love when they know the melees are bored and willing to set up a Skillchain, that they'll actually time it to let them burst to their hearts content, and then they still cast whatever the hell at 75% > make the mob path all over the place to them > "...is too far away." the SC closer, AND complain that the SC didn't go off....

I don't know offhand, but you could go out to a place with stoneskin/utsusemi and barrage a random mob and then charm it and do <pettp>.

Individual hits, as far as I observe. I often duo things on drk with a rng, and whenever she uses barrage assuming a decent amount of hits land, it's a very good time to absorb-TP.

The foremost reason I almost never use barrage when we have "tank" in our fight.
- After full hit barrage, it's guaranteed mob got enough TP to spam immediately
- If your barrage number is good, hate will become chaotic

6 hit barrage with WAR SJ would be like 138~ TP to the mob it is being used on lol.

15TP with a bow
13TP with a x-bow

but wtf... ami missing something.. maybe its because I don't have AF on my RNG yet but when I hit a barrage with arrows the max i get is a 4 hit for a total of 60TP... never gotten more than a 60TP return on a bow... which would mean I'm capping at 4 arrows unless barrage reduces amount of TP gained to 10TP/shot and if thats the case I would expect the mob would receive reduced TP as well. with a max being at 60%?

Barrage is tiered, you start with like 3 shots at 30 and end up with 5 shots (70+ I think), 6 if you have AF1+1 hands.

ok cool found it.. makes more sense now:
Barrage can fire up to 4 shots at level 30, 5 shots at level 50, 6 shots at level 75.

Barrage is for Ripping down stoneskin ASAP when the TP gain is nonexistant. EES is for trying to knock off the 1% Cerb that got a GOH or two through.

Basically soloed a 1% Cerb that got Spammy after logging on and making it there right as 95% of the alliance was dead.
