Sometimes firefox (video playing problems)

Sometimes firefox will only be able to play the first 1-2 seconds of a video file off youtube or dailymotion +other similar sites. It will continue to load the whole movie but no matter where I move the progress bar it will just play for 1-2 seconds and then stop again. I would usually just fix it by restarting firefox and if that failed restart the computer but this time both of those 2 methods didn't work. I can get around it by opening the movie in a different non firefox browser or just use the open in IE tab option that firefox has but both of those are hassles.

Anyone know what is wrong?
