My Prediction for this year:

Western Conference Final: Anaheim vs. San Jose, Anaheim Winning
Eastern Conference Final: Ottawa vs. Washington, Ottawa Winning

So ya, basically I'm predicting the exact same final as last year.

I think Pittsburgh in round 1.

Ivaden you're from Pittsburgh? What parts? I live out in the North Hills. I was able to scoop some tickets for Game 2. I'm hoping the Pens are able to take out Ottawa but right now the pressure is all on the Pens. Ottawa is pretty much being written off right off the bat because Alfredsson and Fisher are both out.

People seem to forget that they still have Jason Spezza and Dany Heatley. They still have a very solid defense corps and a fantastic checking line. Their goaltending situation is in complete and total shambles. Pens in six.

I'm out north near New Castle about an hour from Pittsburgh, but I'm an art fag at the Art Institute if that counts for being from Pittsburgh. I think the Pens will be fine for at least the first two games, they get way too pumped up from the home crowd. To be honest I'm a fairly new fan to hockey and the only games I've seen are every game since March 12 against Buffalo (first one I went to ever), so I can't pass judgment on other teams, but fuck if hockey isn't amazing fun to watch.

any and every other hockey fan on the board knows this is the BEST time of the sports year. tomorrow night when the pucks start dropping, the games finally start counting! Besides watching my Rangers on their quest for the cup, there always going to be western conference games on which I'll get to watch when I get home from work/getting home from the bar watching rangers games/getting home from MSG cheering on my boys!

Personally, HUGE lifelong Rangers fan here, and looking forward to this first round series with the devils, should be epic, and even though we don't have home-ice advantage, I think we have the edge in the series. I just went to MSG this afternoon and picked up my set of tickets, and man am I psyched!

Lifelong Devils fan here, so I'm bound to hate you although the Rangers did have a better record against them in the season the playoffs is a whole new game so ya never know what's going to happen! will definatley be a good set of games.

I just like how we matchup against the devils, but yeah, playoffs are such a different animal from the regular season. this series will really come down to goaltending, and which team can minimize their mistakes. Rangers clearly have the better offensive talent on their roster, but while they were defensively better than the devils this season, I'd say the rangers are more prone to the bad play at the bad time. Devils will force rangers to be very very very patient. I'm looking at all the scores being low, and multiple games going to OT is by no means out of the question. I'm working tomorrow night, but I'm planning on cutting out early enough to go to a local bar/grill to catch most of the 2nd period and there on in. went to MSG this afternoon to pick up my playoff tickets, and cant believe I have to wait till next wednesday (game 4) to finally go to a game! got next sunday off too should it go to 6 games

True story, and really who cares about the streak of playoff appearances the Chicken Wings have made. They'll get bounced out again like they have the last couple of years by the second round.

As much as I want the Pens to get to the finals in the east I see us not making it out of the 2nd round.

Red Wings or San Jose are my picks for the cup. So much experience in both clubs, if they clash in the West finals I'm going to try my best to watch all those games. Nothing short of epic.

Just because Alfredsson is gone doesn't mean they still don't have any weapons left. The only thing that sucks at this point is their goaltending. Which, admittedly, is a HUGE LIEK XBOX flaw.

It's not just because of Alfie. Historically, the Sens have been major choke-artists in the post season. I believe this is their 11th or 12th playoffs in a row.

Gerber hasn't been playing all that well lately, and Emery seems to be at odds with the team with his off-ice antics (not to mention the giant rebounds this man gives up).

I'm not saying they're going to get killed, but Malkin and Crosby are hungry this year after losing out to Ottawa. It'll be real interesting.

Plus, being a Buffalo fan, I hate the Sens.

Man I used to love watching those series between the Avalanche and the Red Wings. I don't even like either team, but god damn those games were always vicious as hell. And to be blunt, some of the best hockey you could ever watch.
