Edit: It wasn't just RMT, I know a lot of people personally who made out like bandits.

I spent the entire event 12+ hours a day in IC, gave me all the gil I needed to get to 75 + events for a long time.

What ever happened to the awesome event they had shortly after I started? It was the one where they first introduced the "Lord's Yukata" etc. You know, you get set at level 1 and transported to a high level dungeon (Ifrit's Cauldron, etc.) and both had to run around and find ??? marks. It was awesome. Do they still have it and I just happened to miss it the past couple of years?

RMT took advantage of this to mine Ifrit's Cauldron, back when it was worthwhile.
A lot of people made a LOT of money on this, so SE ditched it.

Fixed. They ruin a lot of things for players in order to screw the RMT.

So all they have to do is let you run in zones without any fishing/mining, or let you run in those zones again now that there's a level cap on mining.

I was going to say this. It took days to kill them with hundreds of people. It was cool back when I was level 20(also the cap for the event). Not so much now.

The dancing tarus and summerfest music makes me happy.

The best part of the swords event is when you're running your mule to jeuno, you are almost through Jugner, and POW! The motherfucking mithra hax up and pwns your ass in a most comical manner, then glitch warps away.

I don't know, Trees Gone Wild was an amazing event. I told my friend about it (he joined about a year ago) and he thought it was the most amazing FFXI related story ever. Maybe the event was awesome because the thought of pairing up with so many people (in '03) was an epic call to battle, or maybe the reward was and still is the greatest reward from an event. Or maybe we were all newbs and "omghuegliekxbox" treants were all the rage ;oa

Maybe they can make the reward not having to be asked if you want to set your HP at a moghouse that is already your HP when you change your job.

Yea, trees was fun, but that only happened like once. Summerfest has been consistantly better than the other events for the last 3 years. I will admit, however, that if they brought treants back, there would be two good events instead of just the one.

Something about that thread with the RMT mpk'ing other RMT fighting Simurgh by having Toro warp all their people from the fight makes me think it won't come back.

They could easily fix it though, have them only able to mess with people who sign up, take the level restriction, whatever...

Still one of the top 10 best events ever though, even with RMT trying to hose it. Enmity Sash that pwned for low level activity, people getting smacked across zoneswas win and overall it was a nice fresh event that had even the most stubborn event-haters participating.

Really... the best event was Ballista Royale - they need more hands on events like that where servers can collide for shits n giggles.
