Opo Opo Crown / Bkn Mithran Rod

Anyone know how to break a Mithran rod with the current fishing system, all the guides / threads I can find are old and don't seem to be working even after 20+ rusty items and 0 skill.

I broke mine in a stream in Ronfaure (also couldnt land a broken in stock).

can't recall bait or 'target catch' but it broke fast.

I did the same thing as rama post fish update, only took like 10 mins. I fished right there near the zoneline to south sandy :3

I remember being 60 brd trying to get opo-opo crown and someone in my LS told me to go to Davoi to break it. I got a lure that fished up big fish and on the first cast, I broke it.

Wear a Noble ribbon and use tav tacos!

Heh, tried to break a rod this past weekend with 0 skill.

Tried to break it in:
Kazham
Sea Serpent Grotto
Labyrinth of Onzozo
Ronfaure East
Ronfaure West
Ferry

All of which failed. Total time blown: 15 hours. I wound up getting help from a 50ish fisher on the Ferry because we helped her get a Seawolf Cudgel.

(3/3 on the cudgel, incase you feel like shooting yourself in the head)

I broke one for a friend recently. Just need to target a fish way higher than your skill that you're able to deplete stamina on.

I did it on Emperor Fish out in Beaucedine, targeted with Trout Balls. I'm 52 and they cap at 94 i think. I had wasted time on a ferry, but it took me two casts out in Beaucedine.

Of course, areas with lots of logs are good too.

I finally broke it in the Davoi river after trying Qufim, Ozonzo, and Kazam for about 3 hours. I think it was on a log - I was using cod slices so I wouldn't catch the crayfish.

Gratz on finally breaking it. Just for the info... I broke mine in Gusgen mines in one of the three pools on the bottom map. Took only about 5 casts to break it.

I remember camping the AH for two weeks all the while trying to break this stupid thing. I think the total time spent (my fiancee and I both kept me logged and fishing) was somewhere around 40hrs before it broke; this includes fishing in the all areas mentioned above with various bait.

Both times I rescued a toau general from the mamool vajayjays the ??? I got appraised to a broken fishing rod. Not sure it was mithran or not, this just reminded me how sad serpent general gifts of appreciation FOR SAVING THEIR LIVES are.
