I was driving down 880 when all of a sudden a see a black object about 50-75 feet in the air, im like wtf. so i look over to do a lane change look back, and get smacked in the head/shoulder with a tire and some 1,000 spoke wheel. i came to (still driving straight actually, and came to a stop. I got out of the car snapped some pics, and then i was taken away on an ambulance....
i was on my way to pick up some parts for fest.

Its one of those Dub wheels that screw on, but an even cheaper ebay knock off. They fall off often cause their owners arn't typically very mechanical...

Most of those are made so that the wheel itself fits around a specially made hub that is threaded on the end. The "center cap" is actually a nut that threads onto the hub and holds the wheel in place. The hubs are left-hand thread on the driver side, and right-hand thread on the passenger side so that the rotation of the wheel does not cause the nut to wind itself off of the hub.

They are still a shitty design however, as evidenced by the photos above.
