    What's “Mog Bonanza”?
Final Fantasy XI's 6th anniversary is just around the corner, and to celebrate this happiest of occasions, the Mog House Management Union (MHMU) has decided to hold the very first Mog Bonanza event, kupo! We moogles have spared no effort to ensure that this inaugural event is a runaway success, with the prizes prepared bound to have even the most appallingly affluent adventurers drooling uncontrollably, kupo! This is the chance to turn your Vana'dielian dreams into reality and become the envy of all fellow adventurers by winning stupendous amounts of gil, or super-rare items of legend like the Kraken Club...and more!

    How to Play
The Mog Bonanza is a number-guessing game in which you pick a five-digit number of your choice, kupo.
Playing is simple! Purchase a Mog Bonanza marble (*1) from a Bonanza Moogle at designated areas (*2), then have the vendor inscribe your desired five-digit number on it, kupo. If you can't decide on a number, we moogles will be more than happy to pick one for you. The winning numbers will be announced at a later date, so sit tight and leave the rest to Lady Luck, kupo!

The conditions for winning are as follows:
Rank 1 prize: all five digits.
Rank 2 prize: last four digits.
Rank 3 prize: last three digits.
Rank 4 prize: last two digits.
    Rank 5 prize: last digit.

    *1
Up to 10 Mog Bonanza marbles can be purchased per character level 5 or above. You can have the same number inscribed on multiple marbles. This will mean bigger earnings should you have a winning number, kupo.

    *2
Purchase your Mog Bonanza marbles, check winning numbers, and collect prizes from Bonanza Moogles at Port San d'Oria (I-9), Port Bastok (L-8), Port Windurst (F-6), or the Chocobo Circuit (H-8), kupo.

FINAL FANTASY XI 6th Anniversary Mog Bonanza

    A Concentrated Offensive.
    Rahal, that miserable miser...
How long does he think to delay the dispatchment of kingdom forces to strike down the Orcish threat?
From whence did the throne's coffers take precedence over the safety of our citizens?
With the winnings, I shall restore the order of knights to their former glory, and--
    What? Bonanza numbers!?
    ......
A concentrated offensive is the most fundamental military strategy! Ten marbles for number 11111 shall be my pick!
Elvaan gentleman, knight. Port San d'Oria (I-9)

    Bigger Net = More Fish.
I'm only interested in playing because revenue from the Mog Bonanza is supposed to go towards Mog House maintenance and improvement. You could say it's my little way of showing support to all the tireless young adventurers out there. But of course, I don't intend to just make up the numbers--no pun intended, heheh. My calculations have shown that consecutive numbers will maximize one's chances, so that's how I'll be picking my ten.
On top of that, I'm forming a syndicate with nine trustworthy friends from the Metalworks, which means we'll have all possible combinations covered for the last two digits. After all, a bigger net catches more fish!
Hume gentleman, engineer. Port Bastok (L-8)

    Let the Moogle Manage.
Wealth not obtained through one's own hard work is meaningless.
That is why your so-called Mog Bonanza fails to capture my interest.
But, if I were to play like those gil-starved adventurers.
I'd simply have you, the moogle, pick my ten numbers.
    What's that, you ask?
What if the numbers should be off the mark?
I'd be full of pity for you.
Because it's me that you'll have to answer to!
    Ohohohohoho!
Tarutaru lady, mage. Port Windurst (F-6)

    Leave Fortune to Fate.
I've been waiting a long time for something exciting like this to come along.
I doubt a young whippersnapper like you will understand, but when you get to my age and have seen all there is to see, nothing really gets your heart pumping anymore.
What? Want to know how I'll pick my numbers, eh?
Actually, I intend to pick only one. I don't know what that number is yet, but I'm sure it'll reveal itself when it's good and ready. The rest I leave to fate.
I have a feeling a lot of young'uns looking for ways to better their chances won't be satisfied with my answer.
Sorry to disappoint! Heh heh heh…
Hume gentleman, martial artist. Chocobo Circuit (H-8)

MOD EDIT - DO NOT REPLY TO THIS THREAD IF ALL YOU ARE GOING TO REPLY WITH IS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
    * "First prize should be the AV strategy, lulz."
    * "I bet first prize goes to an RMT."
    * related to the above: "Congratulations, Asfiuuwur!" or any combination of name similarly made by randomly typing
    * "LOL, first prize will go to some noob, YES I GOT A KAISER CUIRASS/BLOOD SCALE MAIL/DALMY+1/etc."
    * Any mention of Feiwong winning.

These have already all been done at *least* twice, most at least FOUR times in this thread, and saying them again isn't funny, especially when you're only showing you haven't bothered to read anything.

    Re: Mog Bonanza Kicking-off May 16! (04/30/2008)

Wow is all I really can say. They really went ahead and did it. For people that fight so hard taking money out of the economy, they sure seem to be willing to put a hell of a lot right back into it. I think I know. Anyone who picks the first or second prize for gil items will automatically get banned for being suspected RMT. I think actual RMT will probably be spamming the hell out of this hoping to win the 100 mil ;x

Anyway.. yeah if you picked anything other than gil for the 1st or 2nd prizes, that'd be pretty dumb. As ncie as a Ridill and some of those other items might be, 100 mil gil is well... 100 mil gil! lol. Anything on that list can pretty much be obtained with it.

They should have thought of a little better tier system. Oh well! Still a great idea. Let's hope they do this yearly now

    Re: Mog Bonanza Kicking-off May 16! (04/30/2008)

Wow, its awesome that they actually put in some incredible prizes for first place even if you have a very low chance of winning.

Kind of crappy that their second and third place winnings are mostly Xarc and Beau AF (would've been more interesting if they were all +1 pieces), but BB and Speed Belt more than make up for it and you can always just choose the gil reward. (Funny that they list Warrior's Lorica for 2nd and 3rd prizes, made a mistake I guess).

I'll actually level my mules to level 5 so they can participate too (if its not restricted to 1 characters per account).

At least a guy can dream about getting a Ridill for a little while, lol.

So...is there only going to be a certain number of winners per server or overall? It doesn't seem possible that adding 100m to every servers economy would be good. D: Although it's early and this looks cool, lol.
