Glitch or am I missing something?

I've been in Phomiuna Aqueducts at the room Eba pops in for several hours trioing fomor to try to get my friend a subligar. Our jobs are NIN/DNC, BRD/WHM, and WHM/THF, and we've only pulled SMN BST RNG and THF fomor(and respective pets). Over this time, every time I pull a RNG I get a dia effect(as ninja). The smn has yet to have a light elemental, and this has happened 5-6 times now.. my friend speculated that it was an additional effect from arrows on the first one, but it happened again when I had not been hit by any melee or ranged attacks. It takes away 2 damage/click and subtracts 10% defense, implying Dia II. Does anyone have any idea what is or could be causing this ?_____? It isn't exactly a problem, it just makes me curious. That seems very odd. I've never heard of anything like that before. Maybe go back and try it again. If it happens then call a GM. It MIGHT actually be a glitch they don't know about.

This has been happening to me in The Ashu Talif #3, friend told me it was just a type of COR shot or something the captain uses but didnt really make sense to me. Might be something shadow/fomor type mobs get for RAs.

To the OP:
I have never experienced dia from fomor rng.
Is it a Diaga or a regular dia?
Do you have any chat/effect turned off?
If not then it looks to me like Fomor-rng pops with /whm nowadays.

Also does it go through shadows?
Maybe those rngs have some kind of bolt that does dia.

I thought I was going crazy.

I've been in Sacrarium a lot trioing Balor for Swift Belt (0/15+, but that's a different story) and I get it randomly all the time. We usually cap our fomor hate in Lufaise Meadows and I receive it too. There's no message in the chat log implying it's been casted on me. It's not constant, it wears after a few minutes, and it happens completely randomly. I always am on NIN as well, although the other two people I go with (NIN and RDM, respectively) have never had it happen to them.

There were several occasions where I had not taken any kind of damage at all, and it didn't wipe shadows (so couldn't have been diaga). It's not filters either because I had my friend who doesn't use any chat filters check his logs as well to make sure I wasn't losing my mind.

I took all filters off after the first, and like the last poster said there was no chat log indication of it at all, no shadow strip, no diaga, nothing unusual. Just.. dia.

I want to go ahead and assume its a glitch, From what it sounds like your saying is that randomly when you pull a Fomor Type mobe, (Seems to be on NIN job only O_O) You randomly get the "Dia" Effect.

I'd definitly report it to a GM before it ends up killing you. x.x

I think Wafik reported something similar about some salvage fomors that gave him bio in another thread. Uhhh I'll try to find it, I'm guessing this is just some kind of bug SE brought along in the last update.

Edit-Now I can't find it, oh well.

I just assumed fomors had an additional effect on range attacks. I've had this happen for a long time and just wrote it off as a cook perk of being a fomor.

Same thing happens in SSR, can be dia or bio but i dont know what the trigger is
