What should I cook for mothers day? / What are you doing?

Pretty self explanatory on the second half, however, I'm fairly good in the kitchen (I can follow directions and cook alot). One of the things I always do for my mom is cook dinner on mothers day and I kinda wanted to do something good/extravagant. Any ideas?

So i spent like an hour going through recipes trying to find something to cook my fiancee for mothers day. Found something that sounded great, Chicken and cheese tortelloni in mushroom sauce. Started cooking it and had it ready for when she got home from work...

I hate this time of year, my mother was killed 5 years ago and to make it worse her and I were not speaking at the time due to some extremely petty drama and my own ego not allowing me to say "I'm sorry".

With that said I really like the ideas in this thread, just take the time to let the moms out there know that they are appreciated and loved. The best thing you can do is give your mom your time. Happy Mothers day to the Moms on BG.

But then again, I've been cooking for her a lot over the past few weeks every since her husband died, so I guess cooking again on Sunday isn't a big enough of a deal for her to ask for something fancy.

My mom's smart enough to know that the best Mother's Day dinners don't happen on Mother's Day. We usually go out somewhere nice the weekend afterwards and just relax on Sunday with takeout and her favorite movies.

Cheaaaaaaaaa, Denny's. I'm glad my mom didn't care if I took her out today instead of Sunday 'cause of schedules . Some people can be pretty anal about holidays/birthdays.

My mom's birthday is a week after Mother's Day, so my sister and I usually just have our wallets join forces to create a Megazord of gifts. This year my mom just requested tickets to Pawtucket Red Sox baseball games (she's been a huge baseball fan her whole life) on the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the week after her birthday. I certainly won't complain about having to spend a whole weekend in a ballpark.
