Is anyone going? I'm being dragged out to seattle for it so ya. Granted it's 2 and a half months away but even so.

Aw, Ryko is gonna be in my citeh. ^-^ Setsuko kinda made me want to go, so I'll be there somewhere I think.
I'm frankly only doing it to bring the ike love over to the west coast, all of the big ones are easterners lol. There are a lot of solid smash players out there though and a lot lot lot lot LOT more snakes so I wanna go out there and check it all out.
Is Smash really that big now? lol
Always was, always is, and always will be. There's still a lot of contention from the melee crowd since it in general is a slower game but all in all high level smash play is fast and fun as hell to watch or be a part of. I personally like friendlies a lot more than tournament play (for one I get nervous and play terribly in tournament settings and secondly I play a mediocre character) but even with the "play to win" gutting of the roster, the tournament play has some impressive shit going on.
We had tiny ass little $20 Super Smash Bros. tournaments at a Wizards of the Coast I went to when I was in high school. 10 people at the most, lol. I never heard of Smash again until Brawl came out because no one I knew really wanted a Gamecube to play Melee.
The weekly tournaments in the bigger cities usually boast a good couple hundred buck prizes depending on how much of the pot first takes. The chump tourney up my block however is only a quick way to make 20-80 bucks at best but I dont actually have to move and there's no real comp there so it's worth the trip around the corner.
I will be there~
Smash will be big again if/when MLG picks it back up. Really sucks they ditched it but it was funny as it was dying they started kicking Smash kids out of the venue. During the last MLG smash was at they were actually playing in hotel rooms/outside the venue, there was that little interest. Hopefully SSBB takes it's place but currently, it's not really at the same competitive level anymore. (Money wise, not going to start a debate over whether SSBB is capable of becoming a highly competitive game)
Any game is capable of being a highly competitive game. You just need the right people. :3
I'll be there!
Flight/Hotel booked months ago. Last year was fucking amazing fun. Helps to know a local so you're not stuck milling about the expo center between events because that's about as exciting as walking through a mall.
I go back to school about a week before PAX, so no, unfortunately. I would consider coming back for it, but fuck a 20 hour drive and fuck paying for roundtrip airfare.

Scunsion and I are going. He's already booked everything. He had a hell of a time getting a hotel so if any one else is thinking about going and hasn't booked that yet, good luck

I just moved here to Seattle so I'm sure as hell going to go!

I want to go but I am poor.
