Laptop keyboard - 'z' presses itself alone

Its a Dell and I have been using it almost 24/7 since I got it 6 months ago, today it started doing that, it works fine and then out of nowhere it goes
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

Then when I press 'z' if will not respond, now, a LS mate had more or less the same problem with the 'd' on his laptop, I dont know the brand of his laptop.

I've seen more beaten laptops work just fine, is there anything I can do to try and fix the problem?

No I dont have sticky keys or any kind of bindings or programs (that I know of) doing funny stuff with the keyboard.

Why is it that people seem to be having problems with their Z keys as of late?

Do you use the shift key next to the z a lot?

The keyboard is usually removable if you find the right screws and pop out the right pieces (consult your user's manual for details, it's usually not even threatening to the system's overall functionality, but attempt at your own risk, etc). Try removing it and looking for anything stuck under the plastic keys, the springs, or the pressure switch that might cause it to trigger at random. Blow some compressed air through all of it even if you don't see anything.

turns out the company put gold coverage or whatever with dell on these machines, getting the keyboard replaced, yay for cheap manufacturing
