Don't kill me, I have a legit problem. For 2 days I've been messing with the intro to FF tactics and somehow trying to stretch it out to at least 1:45+ by cutting the song around and pasting it. I'm really getting nowhere. The wife to be that will be walking down the aisle to the song really wants this one, but it isn't quite long enough.

She knows she hates the way the original ends and wants the the song to also end they way the first part of the song ends (from about :23 to :45). I have no experience and I've been fucking with it for 2 days in WavePad and getting a whole lot of nowhere.

Instead of trying to stretch and heavy edit the original...have you considered simply introducing it with another piece of the length you want?

I don't know how switching songs half-way down the aisle would go. Unless you have a brilliant segway <--(how in the hell do you spell this), it would probably be distracting. I know over the past few days we've been through a thousand damn songs, from Bach to Beethoven to instrumental Coldplay songs...Finally found what she wanted on a CD I burned for my baby to sleep to that had a ton of classical music and piano/soft videogame tunes.

It really needs a proper re-arrangement to suit your needs. Maybe get in touch with a local college with a music program and find someone to do it for $100?

I do also think it would be weird to use the part of the song after the :49 mark, it's too military-march style. If this composer/arranger guy Shue pointed you to is worth his salt, he should be able to take the first :49 and re-write it in that style for a full 2 minutes, keeping the original ending.
