ATT U-Verse Fiber / Standard DSL?

Right now I'm at a tossup for Roadrunner Standard / the new ATT Fiber or DSL services, and I was wondering if anyone had experience with the ATT internet services. I previously used Roadrunner, it was decent, depending on how many people in the building were on and such. Now im at a tossup for the cheaper ATT service I haven't used since dialup days, or sticking with roadrunner.

I work at AT&T in the DSL deptartment. DO NOT EVER BUY AT&T DSL. Uverse is NOT fiber, its some dumb ass shit (fttn, fiber to the neighborhood) which provides NOTHING standard DSL doesnt. stick with road runner.

Hi Korietsu,

I'm a AT&T dsl user. Originally a SBC customer till they were bought by AT&T. I have the 1.5mbps/384kbps connection. They sell it @ $25.00 but I got it at a promotion + I use them as my phone company so it's $16.99.

Now the only reason I went with them (and this is important) was b/c the CO "central office" is a block down the street from where I live, so my connection is very good. I've never had any problems with them (although they do have a semi-shitty customer service). I suggest you stick with TW unless you want slower speeds.

An even better suggestion would be to get Verizon's FIOS. That shit's good. I'm switching once it becomes available (if it ever does) in my area. Oh, and about Uverse, Killgannon was right... stay away lol.

Personally, go with cable Internet. But then, I am a TWC employee Tier3 Tech Support. I have used both ATT DSL and then used RR. Differences are amazing. Obviously you play FFXI (or some other MMO) cable > dsl, sorry. Also have seen Uverse in action...no offense to the ATT employee here, but lol >_>

I actually quit mmo's. Its mostly for browsing / XBL / TF2 on the PC. I might go back to wow when wrath comes out but thats sketchy. However, my only problem is that the last time I had RR up at the apartments I was going to be in, there was way too much packet loss.

actually DSL > cable for games... dsl has lower ping times because you arent sharing your connection with dumb jim next door who's downloading his fatty granny nascar porn 24/7
