Recommend me some horror movies!

I've been recently running a marathon of some horror/suspense movies with a friend of mine and we've been hooked. We've watched movies like REC, The Eye, Grudge 1/2, Shutter (both versions, english one sucked).

Can you guys help me with some movie recommendations: ones that really scary/makes you jump? If you have any japanese/asian horror film versions that I really nice, those are preferred. Thanks so much!!

The Changeling - Good older ghost movie.
Slither - Amusing at the very least.
Day of the Dead(Remake) - Was fairly decent if you keep your expectations low.
Dead & Breakfast - Fairly gory, funny, B zombie flick.
Halloween - The original. Period.


I'll post some more later since I'm at work.

Oh and the Descent sucked fucking balls. It was horrendous. That could be because I've read the book though and the two are nothing alike.

Audition is a pretty creepy Japanese horror flick about a guy who wants to remarry and ends up meeting this psycho murderer chick. Pretty darn creepy.

Pet Sematery. Based on the Stephen King novel.

And, I've flipped through this book called 501 must see movies and there's a horror section. Just throwing these out there, maybe a couple would be good. The Fog, An American Werewolf in London, Poltergeist, The Thing, The Shining, Carrie, Eraserhead, The Omen (the original), The Exorcist.

I was always a fan of Carpenters "The Thing", although some dont like this so much. Hell if you watch "Night of the Living Dead" you will be shocked these days. Think of it as more of a social commentary and less of a horror film. That should get you rolling.

it's really a question of do you like only new stuff, only old stuff, or both. Because some people don't like the realistic-gore of today, some don't like the dated special effects of yesterday and some don't care.
