New POL update stops passwords working

I logged out the game this morning and when i tried to log back in there was a POL update. It did its usual thing but when i tried to log back in my password wouldnt work. Obviously my first thought was that i had been hacked, so i phoned up to have my account frozen and was told that the new pol update is causing it and it has been happening to most, if not all players.

They are currently working on resolving the issue. >_>

This update gave me the scare of my life.

Tried to log in 3 times, got locked out. Rang up SE, got my password reset, and it let me log in.

EDIT: On Alexander, if that makes any difference.. tried logging in onto a different POL account that is on my comp, got same error.
Dunno wtf, as mentioned a few posts under mine it must be a random shot, what a pain in the ass lol >_<

they told them to try to login again tomorrow cause the don't know how to solve problem right now.

he just force update POL viewer and everything works fine again.

I'm logged in fine.

I'm also on Fairy. However, being an ex-lolpup of Fenrir, I noticed my entire Fenrir Friend List is empty. Maybe it's just server specific?

My wife and a friend of ours have the incorrect password problem. They are both on Fairy server.

Possibly only affecting random accounts. I can only imagine how spammed the support centres are getting atm

POL updated when trying to dualbox a friend and then got the error after it restarted. Happens when opening playonline by any method. Can't log off my character now in case I can't get back on D:

Just this second started working for me, after failing several times.

EDIT: Tried to log my second account on, and failed several times. Restarted PoL each time and it eventually worked. Hmm

They cannot reset passwords and apparently it's nothing to do with the update.This happened JUST before the update was put on according to SE and its only affecting EU players apparently.

I don't think this is an account-related problem, just about POL.exe. I just ran the update on 2 of our PCs (me and my partner Scudley's) and now this is happening:

It's a bit confusing but: I can log onto Scudley's account fine anywhere. I can log onto the spare ToD/crafting mule account ONLY in full screen mode, if I try load it up in windower it says the password is incorrect. I can log onto Vig ONLY in Windower POL, not in full screen.
Sheesh.

For what it's worth I downloaded the update via "proper" POL, not windower.
