He was on the verge of getting cut anyway. They aren't going to get any value.
He was on the verge of getting cut anyway. They aren't going to get any value.
ESPN said they were aiming for basically just a decent receiver for him, which kinda sounds like they want somebody's third WR for their (former) first string RB. I highly doubt he was going to get cut, because even with two other RBs that can get the job done, it never hurts to have a third
Early reports were rumoring that he'd be cut because of Watson's offseason performance and Johnson's beat down body. Now Johnson is injured and Watson is the starter. This is just the Bengals trying to salvage a little value for someone they don't even want. Jerrah Jones was offering 1st round picks for "capable" WRs and got nothing. Who are the Bengals gonna get for a running back that would be an average backup?
Fuck Kenny Watson, Chris Perry's the starter, until he gets on the IR again.
LOL @ Perry on the IR. QQ
I laugh but it's only a matter of time.
chris perry > kenny watson fo sho.
also im pretty sure dan snyder is the only owner on record that put first rounders down for WRs this offseason, marvin lewis is should have taken it.
Jerry was shopping one of his two first rounders for a WR, but noone bit.
The Eagles were offering a first for a WR but got the same result as the Cowboys
gdi...Bryant McKinnie just got suspended for four games...
In other news - how many other teams draft as good as the Colts? Have they even had a first round bust? Marvelous is a future hall of famer, Reggie Wayne has 4 consecutive 1000 yard seasons, in fact, 5000 yards in the past four years...
2008 - no first rounder
2007 - Gonzalez - he is off to a batter start than Wayne was in his first year
2006 - Joseph Addai - some question his durability, but he proved his worth in his rookie year alone. Tony Ugoh in the second round who is becoming a solid pass protector.
2005 - Marlin Jackson & Kelvin Hayden - they played exceedingly well in the Colts' SB run
2004 - Bob Sanders, enough said
2003 - Dallas Clark, Robert Mathis, Cato June (probowler who went to TB)
2002 - Dwight Freeney
The majority of their first round picks from 1994, with exception to Ellis Johnson (I don't know who he is, maybe he did go) have pro-bowl appearances, in many cases multiple appearances. That front office is really, really strong.
And it shows - look at their coaching staff for one...and look at what happens to people they draft, but know they can do without: Jason David.
