    Nyzul Weapon Information

I'm not sure someone posted this already, but it seems as if information about Nyzul weapons is finally being released. Multiple sources have the information about single weapons, but they did release general information as well.

I'll go ahead an see if I can link tho the different sites providing the information since it's best to hear it straight fromt he people it was given to.

    General Information - Allakhazam
    http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.htm...;num=29;page=1

Allakhazam.com has exciting new information about Nyzul Isle weapons, released at the 2008 Premier Site Summit Friday at Square Enix headquarters in El Segundo, Calif.

A battlefield challenge will be added in the next version update as the final step to receive the Nzyul Isle relics. Also, the cost in Alexandrites to obtain the relic weapons will be reduced, and changes are planned to make collecting the currency easier.

Players will also be able to acquire new weaponskills with the relic weapons, and the new skills will be usable even without the relic weapon being equipped. However, the weaponskills will give players additional benefits if used with the relic weapons equipped. The Nyzul relic weapons are not designed to be the most hard-hitting weapons in the game; rather, they are meant to enhance the defining traits of each job.

Premier sites were given a chance to view seven of these amazing new weaponskills. The best part is, adventurers too busy to get a relic weapon will still be able to obtain the weaponskills through other means.

More details about the relic weapons will be released Sunday, with full summit details to follow soon after, including first-hand accounts of the red mage sword Murgleis -- tested for the very first time by Allakhazam’s own Pikko and Thayos! Be sure to tune in to the Premier Site Summit discussion on The Mog House this Sunday from 5 - 7 PM.

Ever since the Nyzul Isle Investigation Assault mission made its way to consoles and PCs worldwide on March of 2007, a certain set of weapons has been taunting the playerbase, their unique models and mysterious lack of abilities serving to tantalize anyone with Assault access and a 75 job. At the Fan Festival that year, these weapons were confirmed to be used to obtain the mysterious Nyzul Isle relic weapons.

Now, at the 2008 Premiere Site Summit, it was revealed by Square-Enix that not only were these Nyzul Isle relics coming soon, but that they would be in the September update.

Content editor Banhammer was able to try out one such relic weapon -- the Kenkonken hand-to-hand weapons, intended for use by Puppetmasters. He reports that, like the existing Dynamis relics, the Kenkonken does introduce a unique weapon skill for Puppetmasters -- a six-hit weaponskill that deals a surprising amount of damage, with an animation deserving of its relic status.

    http://www.stratics.com/drupal/files/PUP.png

While these stats and the accompanying weapon skill are subject to change before the September release, certain features still jump to the attentive reader's attention. The damage per second is, while still more than respectable, lower than on the Monk's fully realized Dynamis relic, the Spharai. This is intentional, Square-Enix explained at the summit, as the Nyzul Isle relics are intended to focus less on raw damage and more on enhancing the abilities of the job. In the case of the Kenkonken, this is manifested in both the improved Martial Arts trait and the reduced overload rate for automatons.

While Nyzul Isle relics are still likely to be as attention-grabbing as Dynamis, puppetmasters desperate for the new weaponskill should not feel forced to grind 50,000 Alexandrite -- a daunting task, even with the increased drop rates coming as well with the September content update. Rather, the new weaponskill will be available through a quest, similar to that which earns the Asuran Fists weaponskill.

This does not mean that those who do put the effort in for the Kenkonken and other Nyzul relics will feel cheated, however. The new "Aftermath" ability grants a relic wielder special buffs in the wake of the weaponskill being performed. As shown above, the Kenkonken's Aftermath improves the puppetmaster's attack and accuracy. The strength of this buff is designed to vary based on how much TP is acquired prior to the weaponskill being used.

More information on the many announcements at the 2008 Premier Site Summit will appear on Final Fantasy XI Stratics this weekend.

Each of the premiere sites that attending the summit this year has been assigned a new Nyzul Isle relic weapon to report on. FFXIclopedia was assigned the Dragoon weapon named Ryunohige. The weapon statistics we were given are not finalized and may change before it's release. We were fortunate enough to even give these new weapons and their associated weapon skills a test drive on the Atomos server. We even got to try this new weapon out before the Square Enix QA team got their hands on it. This is raw info right from the devs. Here's the run down on the DRG weapon:

Enhances Jump effect, cool right? There's a little more to that effect than meets the eye. It looks like it turns your Jumps into automatic crits! Finally a little love the DRGs. Next you see "Aftermath". What's that all about you say? Well, when you perform the new weapon skill with the new relic weapon, you get the Aftermath effect. Allow me to mention that the new weaponskills are not bound to the new weapons. In fact, once you learn the new weaponskill you can use it with any weapon of that class - even a level 1 weapon (this does not mean you can use it at level 1, but you can use it with a level 1 weapon). Also.... and this is big news... the new weaponskills will be obtainable without upgrading a Nyzul Isle relic weapon. Whoa, I know. So here's what the new weapon and the new weaponskill look like:

I even snagged a video of this in action. You heard about the DRG relic weapon here first folks!

Now, if you want to check out the other Nyzul Isle relic weapons that we learned about at the summit, you'll have to check out the other premiere sites to see their assigned weapons. Here is who got what. I will update this post to link directly to them as they update their sites:

Until now, the joyeuse has been the sword of choice for many red mages.

    Key words: until now.

Red mages, meet your dream sword.

    The Murgleis.

    http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/images/it...s/Murgleis.jpg

As designed, the Nyzul Isle relic sword is stronger than the joyeuse. It’s just as fast, and attacks twice.

The convert-enhancing effect is absolutely amazing. When you convert with the sword equipped, you automatically get back half of your hit points, plus whatever hit points were just converted from your mana pool. In other words, no more sudden deaths from converting just before a mob’s AoE attack. No more cure bombs after converting. No need to stop nuking if you’re in the middle of a chainspell. Simply put, it’s made of win.

The aftermath effect of increased magic accuracy and magic attack is also something to behold. The effect kicks in after using the new weaponskill, Death Blossom, with the sword equipped. And, the potency of the aftermath effect is boosted when the weaponskill is used at 200 or 300 TP. From what I was told, the boost to the aftermath effect when used at higher TP levels is intended to be extremely generous.

Because these weapons have not yet been officially tested, the total damage capabilities of these weapons and their weaponskills remains unknown. Also unknown is whether the Murgleis or the new weaponskills have any hidden effects.

As you can see from the photos, the weaponskill itself is stunning, like a giant, exploding rose. We reported earlier that the weaponskills will be obtainable separately from getting the relic weapon. The nature and difficulty of these weaponskill quests remain a mystery, but a member of the FFXI community relations team told me “most” players will be able to learn these new moves.

I nearly fell out of my chair on Friday when it was announced that Pikko and I would be the first to test these weapons. We sat side-by-side in the Alexandria conference room at SE headquarters, playing on Xbox 360s hooked up to giant flat-screen monitors. Our characters were brunette Hume females, decked out in full Morrigan’s gear with the relic weapons. We entered a special assault area of the Mamool Ja Training Grounds on the Atomos server, aided by a massive TP regen (added solely for our enjoyment) and a member of the FFXI community relations team who served as our Tarutaru white mage.

We swung our swords and spammed Death Blossom. The rose animation grew and shattered as mobs fell dead left and right.

    It was beautiful.

The 7 Premium Sites of FFXI just had the chance to play with some of the new Nyzul Relic Weapons.

Onlinewelten had the great chance to play with the new Corsair Weapon "Death Penalty"

    http://ffxi.onlinewelten.com/uploads/inline/pic-24.png

Stats and Damage are not final and may change.

These new Nyzul Relics weren't only made to deal damage. but also to back up the jobs role in the game.

Too bad i wasn't able to test the "Quick Draw" enhancement since i had no cards...

Ranged attacks were stronger after the ws. Can't really say anything about the accuracy since the mobs had no evasion at all.

    Additional Note:
Damage seems to be TP related.

You didn't receive TP for hitting the WS.

Most of the players have been wondering what the new Nyzul Relic weapons would be like and how they will work and today we have some answers.

At this year's summit, we had a chance to sit down and take the first look on their details. The way they will be working is different than the other relic weapons obtained from Dynamis. With the upcoming patch in September, the final quest will be unlocked for people to finalize their new Nyzul relics. From what could be seen on the Atomos server, those new weapons are called Mythic Weapons. Their true potential will be unlocked after completing the newest quest to complete the upgrade. That quest was said to be a battleground type so you will probably require many players to complete it although the details are scarce about it.

What's so special about those new weapons? Well first of all, the weapon skill they bring forth are visually sunning and very effective, but the best part of it is, once unlocked, you will not be required to hold the Mythic Weapon in order to use the new Weapon Skill. But you will want to actually do it because once you have the fully upgraded Mythic Weapon and the new Weapon Skill, you will be gaining the aftermath effect.

The aftermath effect is a new way to benefit players from wielding and using the weapon skill from the mythic weapon. After using the Weapon skill, you will receive the aftermath effect and gain extra bonuses related to your job. The effect will vary depending on the amount of TP you use.

Let's take a closer look at our exclusive: Terpsichore.

    http://archain.ultimals.com/images/0%20Testing/Terp.JPG

Will we take a look at this, please keep in mind that the Damage and Delay are still under revision meaning they could be no way near that when the patch comes. The Mythic Weapons we got to try Friday were just completed for testing the night before the summit and we actually got to test them out for the first time in the world, not even the debug team tested them yet.

    http://archain.ultimals.com/images/0...ting/Pose1.JPG

As we can see, the Dancer's Mythic Weapon is called Terpsichore. It's aftermath effect will result in an Enhanced "Steps" effect. What it basically do is that when you use a step to gain Finishing Moves, you will get an extra point. Therefor, you would be gaining 3 of them instead of 2 or 2 instead of 1.

    http://archain.ultimals.com/images/0...ting/Pose2.JPG

All of the new weapon skills look stunning with new animation and graphics and are doing well in their damage, even though we can't judge damage before they are live. I have tried to self skill chain with the new weapon skill, using Wild Flourish, but it doesn't seem to work so far or perhaps just isn't implemented yet. No clues have been given to know if it could be used with sneak attack either as we had warrior as a subjob.

    http://archain.ultimals.com/images/0...ting/Pose3.JPG

So far the new Mythic weapons seems well worth the effort of getting and they might be the beginning of a new weapon skill system well worth the effort. Players will also be happy to hear that the required amount of Alexandrites will be reduced at the next patch to reflect a more fair number corresponding to players are currently obtaining.

    http://archain.ultimals.com/images/0...ting/Pose4.JPG

Be on the look out for more information on them in the upcoming days and be sure to discuss Terpsichore on our boards!

Not sure if anyone has seen anything in addition to this, but I'm interested in learning about all of them.

Not sure what podcast info is out there either.

    The Polearm was something like

91 DMG, 492 Delay, Enhances Jump, Aftermath: Increases Acc./Att. Ocassionally attacks twice.

You can use this topic for the sole discussion of the relics. The other topic has alot of other information from the interview you can talk about there (Dynamis cost, etc etc), but if you want to post relic stats there too then idc.

So what are the stats on the drg weapon? God they picked the worst fucking jobs to find shit out on.

Edit: nvm it's in the post above mine. >.>

I have a bad feeling about DRK. I doubt they're going to give it something especially sexy, the official job specialty is Abs spells... only if they buff Abs-TP would it be great :/

Maybe it'll probably be enhance Last Resort's Att+ output sicne the relic feet already cover the small +def boost of the JA.

New PUP WS sounds super cool. But...the weapon itself. I mean, the Martial Arts boost is awesome. Reduces the rate of Overload, though? Really? Like we haven't learned to not overload by now?

Super looking forward to seeing the stats on the other weapons. SMN in particular I really want to see what they're going to enhance.

So. Wonder what kind of requirements will be needed to do the new event battle in order to learn these new WS. I hope its not a total nightmare. It'll be hard enough convincing people to let me go on PUP to learn my new move...

I bet the Martial Arts boost kicks PUPs trait up from MA III to MA V-- that would be some crazy shit for PUPs, without making them broken in any way. That and being able to quest for the new WS defeats the purpose of PUP ever wanting Asuran Fists, hehe.
