We've seen this sign popping up over the weekend on the internets, and now reader and Best Buy employee Boomy (possibly a pseudonym) sends this snap from his iPhone of a coming soon sign misprint that is set to disappoint a lot of people come August 16th. At least we assume that this is a misprint. Either that, or Square Enix has developed Apple-levels of secrecy over the past few years...somehow I doubt it.

It's just odd that such a screw-up would occur with nothing even vaguely FF-related coming out this month. Disgaea 3 ships on the 18th, and while for some of us that is more exciting than a FFVII remake, I can't see some hapless sign-monkey mixing the two of them up. Odd.

Even if SE wanted to keep this a secret, there is no way they could have kept it for this long. Someone definately made a cock-up somewhere. Also, don't games come out on Tuesdays in America, whereas 16th is a Saturday?

ya but that was the first thing that caught my eye as soon as I saw the pic. I wouldn't called it dissection, just really fucking obvious.

They did a decent job getting the gleam of the light on it though.

Edit: Actually after looking at it again, the angle in which the photo was shot would make the font look smaller than it is. So, while it may be obvious that the font is smaller, it could simply be an illusion. Regardless, photoshop, dumb/smartass employee: FFVII for PS3 isn't happening, least not in two weeks.

If it does though, I'll record a video of me actually eating my foot.
