If you like serenity, it's impertive you drop the money on the series (it's just one season). Firefly is absolutely fantastic.

saw "the air i breathe" last weekend, ensemble piece with a lot of good actors who play their parts well...
andy garcia, sarah michelle gellar, brendan frasier, forrest whitaker, that goofy kid from girl next door, kevin bacon, julie delpy... couple others i'm sure i'm forgetting.
wasn't MIND-BLOWING or anything, but it was well worth the rental if you're having trouble deciding.
Just got back from watching 7 pounds, movie was one of the best Ive seen this year, would recommend to anyone who enjoyed pursuit of happiness.
Hard Candy
Incredible acting from both Patrick Wilson and Ellen Page. If you've put off watching the movie like I have, you should go rent/download it now, and be scarred for life like the rest of us who have seen it.
Seven Pounds
I mentioned it yesterday, watched it again today because it is that good. More people need to see this movie.
isn't that the movie about a pedophile
a movie everyone should see, superbad!
Even though it's been mentioned before, Slumdog Millionaire. Went to see it a few nights ago and was just an awesome movie. There aren't many movies that I can say I've truly truly enjoyed throughout, but a smile was glued on my face the whole time. It's not a very complicated story but it's told really well and with great style and flair. Definately one of my favourite movies alongside Shawshank Redemption.
Night Watch and the sequel Day Watch. There is supposedly a 3rd and final chapter coming out next year. Russian super hero movie. Watched Sex is Zero and its sequel after seeing a couple posts in the random image thread. It's a Korean version of American Pie. Quite a few funny parts in it, and some horribly disgusting stuff that's worse than the peeing on the head or the girl drinking the pale ale.
Was really excited to watch I Am Legend tonight but it didn't live up to my expectation. I thought the ending was pretty convenient and lame but liked the first 3/4 of the movie.
A few questions:
Spoiler: show
I haven't watched it in a bit so bear with me. I am sure somebody who has watched it recently can correct me.
Spoiler: show
read the books after I saw them the first time, makes the movies make more sense, AND made me want to watch them again (for like the 4th time...)Night Watch and the sequel Day Watch. There is supposedly a 3rd and final chapter coming out next year. Russian super hero movie
3rd movie is not made by Russians though, will take place in north america I believe, so my husband and i are not really looking forward to this much.

Just watched Zombie Diaries last night... wasn't too bad at all, a little "Meh... wtf?" near the end though.
The Butterfly context was from earlier in the movie when Will and his family were escaping from the city and his daughter formed her hands in the shape of a butterfly. however Will was too distracted talking to his wife about the ongoing situation of the city to notice and told her to fackoff basically. And because of this later when he sees the tattoo it triggers in his mind to slow down and think of the little things I suppose and that's when he made his mind on what action to take. I honestly don't like that ending there is another one floating around on youtube and various other sites where Will actually ends up just giving the female Seeker back and basically it ends happily ever after. Also I think the female was his daughter because if I remember the age Will said in the movie the girl was around 16-18 years old and the "leader" Seeker seemed much older.
You really do have to read the books to get the movie. Weltall watched both and hated them, I don't have high expectations for the third seeing how as stated earlier it is being made in the US. If I am correct the 2nd was also made in the US?
It is a different type of movie, somewhat hit or miss with a lot of folks. But I like the movies and the books, books more but both I like.
Saw Seven Pounds totally legally and thought it was a very deep moving movie. Would recommend, don't know if it is worth the 10.50 though, go during the half off time or whatever, but definetaly recommended.
I recently saw Man on Wire, it was very interesting and was told in a way that was quite unique from other docu-films I've seen in the past. It really portrayed the sense of urgency whilst setting up the stunt, and gave a good insight into one man's thrill seeking behaviour and psyche.
Worth a watch if you fancy something that isn't your usual epic hollywood blockbuster.
I see alot of Dark Knight posts so lets stick with the same writer and go with Memento.
Also where are all the Godfather 1 and 2 posts?
First to comment in the new forum!
Finally saw The Fall after all the recommendations. Fairly decent movie. I don't recommend it to many though cause I don't know enough people that like films such as this.
I loved Memento.
I haven't read this thread but I'm going to throw in Zack and Miri Make a Porno, I'm a big Kevin Smith fan and I really loved this, his latest movie.
