I know the story of Ben Hur but all I can think of with the trailers for it is that it's a Gladiator remake, this time with Morgan Freeman. Pass.

This so much. Haven't enjoyed a new show like that in so fucking long. Man I immediately started messaging people after to tell them to watch it.

Speeaking of Ben-Hur, why is that everytime there's a big blockbuster type movie coming out, there's an equivallent type of movie with similar title also released. For example, new Ben-Hur came out, right around same time, came out The Return of Ben-Hur a lower budget film about same subject. Also, similar situation happening with actors too. There always seems to be a cheaper look alike version of big A list actors.

Because there is money in low budget spoof movies and the actors get exposure.

They are usually made by the same company that makes the Sharknado movies, The Asylum. Somehow there is a ton of money in those low budget knock-offs.

    Some of their choice cuts:
    Transmorphers
    Ghosthunters
    Sinister Squad
    San Andreas Quake
    Hansel vs Gretel
    Age of Ice
    Hercules Reborn

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Gladiator, but I'm gonna be hard-pressed to like another film that's similar to it as much as I love Gladiator. I feel like if I go see Ben Hur, I'm just going to wind up comparing it to the awesomeness that is Gladiator, and I won't be able to enjoy Ben Hur. Because it does look like it should be pretty good. But yeah. That's just how I see that going for me, which is why I'm just gonna skip it.

Ben-Hur was a god damn classic, and this remake from everything I've read shits on it.

I really enjoyed Kubo and the Two Strings. A few goofy jokes reminded me it was targeted at kids, and the part of the ending
    Spoiler: show
where the evil grandfather became an amnesiac human
was pretty lame, but overall it is worth a watch.

Can't go wrong w/ Laika, so watch Kubo w/ the whole fam. These guys are artisans, they're like the Bentley of animation. As usual they didn't make a ton of money (the place was empty), so go give 'em your cash.

Agreed, I went in thinking it would be an "alright" movie and it was pretty damn good, really enjoyed it and I loved the interactions between the characters.
